About this concert

The Young Classical Artists Trust presents its new artists, clarinettist Mark Simpson and mezzo-soprano Anna Huntley, who were selected through a rigorous audition process culminating in a public final at Wigmore Hall in May.

Born in Liverpool, in 2006 at the age of 17 Mark Simpson became the first ever winner of both the BBC Young Musician of the Year and the BBC Proms/Guardian Young composer of the Year Competitions. His new piece 'Sparks' opened the Last Night of the Proms this year.

A prize winner at the Das Lied competition in Berlin and the Wigmore Hall International Song Competition, mezzo-soprano Anna Huntley studied at the Royal Academy and Royal College of Music and has sung for English National Opera and English Touring Opera.

The Young Classical Artists Trust is a charity, set up in 1984, which identifies, nurtures, promotes and supports exceptional young artists.
