Feels weird not to be working over Xmas and New Year, but at least I've had total freedom when timing my walks: despite all the current rain, I managed a good couple of hours both yesterday and today during rare completely dry spells. No way of avoiding the mud though!

I'm very impressed that you have still managed to go on your walks, I've been lazy and just been swanning around visiting friends, eating far too much etc but if I had got my act together I could have very easily fitted in a walk.

Diane65, you're being way too hard on yourself! Given that you're working and have other things to do when you're not, you're entitled to relax in any time which remains! It's also arguably easier to find a dry spell for walking in the south-east than in the north-west. And there might just be a tactical element to my walks as well - given that OH has been at home for the last 2 days (first year in ages when there's been no football match on Boxing Day) and in charge of catering, I thought I'd give him as much space as possible...

Still have to admire you Ms Thrifty -- getting out for walks and just finding dry spells amidst the showers shows great determination (even if a bit of the motivation was giving your OH a clear run on his cooking duties!).

My laptop is sick, so is going away this morning to be poked and prodded, and I don't know when I'll have it back, though obviously I hope I won't be without it for too long. I'm not posting in "Wanted", as fairies are always so kind to me anyway; instead this is more to let people know that I won't be around for the duration.

I totally sympathise Ms Thrifty. Same with my MacBook but pleased to say it's been mended and so far so good!
