Thank you, pxc. I begin to wonder if I'm a mug for doing all my own applications. Not criticising you for helping your son; that's understandable, but I was at a work reunion last week where this subject came up, and one former colleague said to me "Oh my husband did mine for me - I couldn't have done it." Yes, but if you get the job, you will be the one who has to do that!prettyxcool wrote:Don't I know it, helping my son apply for internship. Still, all done and dusted now so rewarding myself with tea and a home-made chocolate orange pecan brownie.

Does anyone know some cheap fancy dress sop in central London? I've found one in Clapham and one in Camden, more central would be nice. It's mainly for accessories.

Oh, I was only helping him with his grammar, not the actual application! But it seems pretty complicated and they ask so many questions!Ms Thrifty wrote:Thank you, pxc. Re: The Diary Room
I sometimes walk past this shop in Kensington High Street, maybe that's nearer to you? Don't know how cheap it is though... http://www.nonstopparty.co.uk/Octopus wrote:that's what I've done, I just figured there might be some wonderful shop no website knows aboutprettyxcool wrote:Sorry, I only know the one in Camden. Re: The Diary Room
There's a costume shop right next to Odeon Covent Garden on Shaftesbury Avenue. Don't remember the name but you'll pass it if you walk from Charing Cross Road to the cinema (it's just a few shops earlier than the cinema is, on the same left hand side of the street).
There's also one on The Strand opposite Charing Cross Station though a bit hidden (and again I don't remember what it's called).

The one on Shaftesbury is called Angel, and it's certainly not cheap. They do have a website.

Re: The Diary Room
Ah yes. I missed the "cheap" bit of the question (though I've no idea what these shops cost, as I've not really looked into them much, specialised ones are usually quite overpriced). To be honest, if it's just for accessories, Poundshop/Poundworld/Poundland is probably your best bet! Some of them have specific dressing up sections but even those that don't have cheap jewellery and other accessories.
