Got a call for a last minute invigilation duty at uni and no one is here yet. Exam to start at 1pm. Extra money will be welcome!

Do you get pa*d for the whole exam time if no one turns up McG? I have to stay for an hour in case they appear late so get pa*d for that plus a half hour set up time before the exam starts. We get pa*d fort the full time of the exam plus 30 mins either side whether anyone comes or not!
Anyway, exam did go ahead with 1 candidate so totally brain dead plus it was an hour longer than the time they gave me on phone. Oh well, it's money!!!

You are very lucky. Years ago we used to get that and now it is half hour before the exam to get the room set up and check paper work but only 10 to 15 minutes max "tidy up" time and get "timed out" when you hand in the completed papers. We certainly don't get time and a half for evening and weekends! 
I only do the invigilatoon 'cause it suits me and I do actually enjoy the interaction with students . . . helping to make them settle down and do their best. I probably could think of other things to earn more money if I wanted.
