Wretched weather forecasters! I know British weather is hard to predict accurately but even so, I am fed up with the number of times lately they have forecast really heavy rain for the whole country, all day, meaning that I've given up on walking, only for it to be largely or wholly dry. Today, for instance, the whole morning was not only dry but even quite sunny at times.

So I gave up waiting in for the rain and went for a walk after all. Towards the end I spotted a couple of young chaps approaching, so well turned-out that they were obviously Mormon missionaries, so when they greeted me I simply said "I'm not stopping" and hurried on. They called after me "Have you heard of the Book of Mormon?" whereupon I took great delight in turning back to say "Yes, it's a very good musical!"

I'm sure this is not original and that they must hear it a lot now, but as I'm usually stuck for any sort of riposte, I was pleased simply to come up with something for once.

I'm sorry to hear that, Celini, since it's obviously very popular and I loved it and would even go again, which is rare for me. But each to her own, as we acknowledge here. Hope you didn't p*y a lot for your ticket, or maybe even got one free.

Wow, I could have a holiday for the price of my new orthotics - just pa*d £200 towards them, but that's only half the cost. Still, they should last much longer and give me so much walking pleasure - provided they fit OK when I get them.
