It will be, and so soon! Even weirder is that we will now have "King's Day" instead of "Queen's Day" and a date change too. Managed tllo watch the Queen's speech on my mobile last night (laptop is in for repair) and she is flawless. She'll be missed as head of state, she is very well loved.

According to the Vatican, the Pope will be resigning on 28 February. I always thought a pope was for life...

I just did a news search and at the moment there is no confirmation from the Vatican re Pope Benedict standing done. It has come from an Italian newspaper.

It has just been confirmed on the news that The Pope will retire on February 28th as he no longer has the strength to go on in his post.

Yeah, just heard it! I am very surprised particularly as we can remember the very poor health Pope John Paul 11 was in before he died. Having said that, I do remember us saying that it was cruel to have such an ill man being "wheeled out" to perform his duties.
