I enjoyed the film, but not enough to recommedn people to see it at the cinema. It would have made a great TV drama. I felt there wasn't enough of a story for a full feature length film. And I found that the flashback storyline went on a bit too much.

In short, I thought the film was generally watchable, but not great

Loved this film. I was not expecting it to be so entertaining and I was not aware of the back story of Mary Poppins. [ my fiancee could not believe that I had seen Mary Poppins dozens of times without realizing that Mr Banks is the central character and the reason Mary Poppins arrives! Doh!] The performances were great and I felt the whole experience was a joy.

Genuinely moved by Emma Thompson's performance in this movie. The whole experience was just magical.
