I went to see this Film on Sunday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought that Benedict Cumberbatch was a convincing "baddie" and lit up the screen, great performance.

Funny blog about Into Darkness, partly explains why I only gave it 8/10 and not higher (that recycled warp reactor sequence had a lot to do with it!). Spoiler-heavy, so don't read if you still haven't seen the film!

Don't know why it's taken me this long to comment but actually watched this for free when there was preivew screening. I met my friend inside the screening and he asked me "Have you seen the first Star Trek?" and I gave him a  because I didn't know that this was Star Trek 2.....yes :wall: .. Also to add that I'm not a Trekkie fan (I can't do Star Wars, Star Trek, Thunderbirds, Doctor Who etc.) and so I didn't expect much from it. As I was watching the film...there were moments I thought.....WOW THIS IS QUITE A COOL FILM...then there was a part (towards the end) and I thought....blah I don't like this anymore...and then when it finally ended I thought WOOO it was amazing! Lolz so yeah a massive 8.5/10 from me! I literally only watched Star Trek 1 the other day ahaha....main character is sucha hottie!

Littc wrote: Of course, the big flaw of the film is that it's really not a Star Trek film. It's great fun but it's really not a proper Trek film.
Probably why I liked it so much! :D I agree the new films do have a different feel but as someone who couldn't bear anything Star Trek related before, I'm grateful for it.

I really enjoyed this film and the earlier one. I'm looking forward to the next one. It's actually peaked my interest to maybe revisit previous incarnations but Star Trek did use to really bore me when I accidentally caught it on tv.
