I saw it at Shepherds Bush, complete with the obligatory latecomers standing around discussing where to sit. why can't they just slip in and go to the first seats they find?
anyway I'm not familiar with either of the leads previous work so didn't know what to expect. I guess I was in the mood for silliness cos I was laughing out loud most of the film. sure it was formulaic and like various films form the 80's that were much better, but it did the trick, I came out smiling and happy.
I listened to a podcast and there was quite a bit of improv going on so I reckon that might be some of the outtakes vx
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

I saw this last night, I really liked it, I thought it was really funny, although I thought Mark Walhberg was a bit bizarre. It was a good way to spend an hour and a half and made me switch off from everything else. I haven't seen either of them in anything else, I thought they were funny and had good chemistry. I love Alex from Prison Break I thought he made a good senator(?? I think it was a senator, the guy with the broom!!).
8/10.

Saw this in Norwich last night. I thought it wasn't as funny as I had been expecting but it had enough laugh-out-loud moments to make it enjoyable so 6.5/10 from me.

saw this last night in manchester about 80% full. it wasn't too bad. thought the boat escape was hilarious. Fey and Carrel are very likable.

I saw this last night at Silverlink, arriving just in time to get a seat - phew! Sorry I didn't spot Preston1990 with his first wife - it was so dark in there - I could hardly see the steps. Next time I'll take a torch. :D

I thought it was a gentle unassuming film, with moments of comedy and drama in there somewhere. It could have been a lot better, given the cast list. I think we have a different attitude to comedy than our American cousins, and comedy doesn't often seem to cross the Atlantic very well - in either direction really.
As already mentioned, there were some rather funny scenes - I enjoyed the taxi driver's reaction to being taxi-jacked; and thought the scene with James Franco, Mila Kunis, Tina Fey and Steve Carroll was probably the best scene in the film - the timing was excellent.

7/10 from me.

Saw this at Reading y'day and surprisingly, it was almost 90% full...We were a little late and I was hoping the lights would be down and I cut slink into the front rows but oddly, the film started 20 mts late...

Not the smartest or funniest movie I've seen but from what little I'd read or heard about the movie, it delivered exactly what I expected...Leave your brains back at home, sit back and have some harmless fun....Personally I found the plot silly, the comedy was more hit-and-miss and the lead characters not entirely likeable but still, I laughed quite a bit and there were enough zany moments for me in the 90 mts playing time...Indiv. I quite like both Fey and Carell but didnt think they had too much chemistry - anyone else felt the same way?

Saw this yesterday in Harrow (my second free screening of the year!). The room was less than 50% full - never been to a screening which was less than 70% full so this was a first! I thought the movie was great. Favourite scenes had to be the taxi scene and pole dancing ones! Not one of the best comedies ever made but it was still fun to watch. Everyone in the room seemed to enjoy it as well. 9/10

That's funny. I just got a call from Stylist Magazine saying that I applied for tickets to Date Night and it had been re-scheduled to Friday and I had won tickets. I told her I had seen it already before it occurred to me that I could have passed it on, but I guess most people have seen it now anyway.
