Near the back somewhere in the corner.

I wanted to sit somewhere on the lower level except I'm abit short so I find it uncomfortable on lower seats since I can't see over people's head!

What about you?

lol....I know I was standing outside for about 10-15 mins, kind of hoping the manager might say, hey you can watch any other film tonight! And I kept watching people keep going in and out of the IB screening and the usher didn't even bother to do a people count! But I am glad mostly FMUKers enjoyed it.
a_person wrote:superhero wrote:Yeah I am really surprised as there were so many people outside the cinema. I don't think it's a case of SFF overbooking but more a case of people abusing the system. Maybe people had more friends who wanted to go and just photocopied the same ticket? I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe they will be forced to do photo ID checks!
That really annoys me that you didn't get a seat. There were still about another three to five seats available, there was one right next to my friend! Then there were a few more singular seats on the side and right at the front.
What annoys me more about knowing you been turned away was that I sat next to three very annoying guys. They kept popping in and out getting food or whatever, then munching so loudly, talking away like they were at home and speaking loud and clear, popping out again for long period, coming back and disturbing again and then texting away on their phones with their phone light right in my face. There were some girls telling them to shut up on more than one occasion but they didn't get the message. Arghhhh!
Then to top that up, they kept a spare seat in the middle. The usher asked if it was free and they said it wasn't. And you know why? As one popped out, he went for approx 20 minute, came back at 7.10pm and b*ght his friend in (who was obviously very late). So while you were turned away, a seat was kept for someone else who was very late (yet you were on time) and according to SFF rules should not have been allowed in. I don't mind people hogging seats for their friends but at least ARRIVE on TIME.
There was also a couple behind me who just chatted really loudly the whole way through the film.
As a result of that, I hardly got to enjoy the film. The accents were really strong and because they were talking I didn't get all of it.

With what I did get, I did really enjoy it (suprisingly for a 2.5 hr movie!) and thought it was quite funny! Abit gruesome for my liking too but I loved the Bear Jew so much!!! He looked alot like Sylar to me from Heroes!
I'd rate it 7.5/10 - would recommend to others to watch!

I agree that there is overbooking by SFF sometimes, but also I am not sure they action 'I can't go' messages.
I also have seen parties of 20+ people come in at once, and while it could be possible, I am less than convinced all are on real tickets. (The worst I saw was Benjamin Button, which was overfull, and had surges of people in groups...)
But, the morale of the tale is to get there early or recognise that you could be turned away. Actually, I hope this message got through to the others that were with me... I'm certainly not hanging around for others in future.
And I do think that they should not allow latecomers if the cinema is already full. I know it is difficult to go through traffic (and I have abandoned trying to get to some screenings even when I have left ample time to get there), but i have some murderous Tarantino tendencies for those who turn up late, with popcorn, drinks, etc (i.e. they have time to queue for them), and then disrupt others while looking for seats...
I wonder how many were 'newbies', though. My tickets for Inglourious Basterds said 'starts at 6.30...' rather than 6.00 for 6.30, which used to be common on tickets.

I am sorry to hear what has happen to you. but the screen is fairly full. The staff come in to count how many seat available and go back to let ppl in.
It was fairly full but there were a few empty seats. And your right they did ask people if seats were free but they seemed to ignore some of the singular seats for some reason (and also some people said people were sitting there when they weren't). If people moved up, or didn't hog onto them then I'm sure superhero and guest would have been let in. They may not have been able to sit next to someone they came with but I'm sure superhero wouldn't have minded.
I remember last time I was in Panton Street. I asked a lady was the seat next to her taken? she said yes. She was sitting behind me and the seat was occupied by her stuff for the whole time!!!!

Not an excuse for newbies to arrive at 6.30 - I'm sorry, I was a newbie once too (as were we all). I used my head and the brain inside of it to get their early so I don't disturb others. It's just common courtesy really and it's such a shame, people don't even have that these days.
Superhero, you should have asked to watch another film!!! Especially now you know that there were free seats available! If I had your number, I would text you in to say "there are still odd ones here and there. Quick, get in!!! "

I know, but I am not that dedicated to sit through 1/2 hr to wait for a film to start I am afraid; but likewise I never turn up at 6.30! because there's no point for a free first come first serve film.

Throw the bag off the seat next time! Or if I'm there, I'll have the pleasure to do it for you! It's a seat for a human not a bag.

Or just put your bag there and say your bag needs to watch the film too!!!!
Arghhhhh! Some people really do take the .....

There were a few empty seats at Wimbledon tonight but not many. Also for once latecomers were shown to seats by an usher so there was definitely less disruption with people trying to get in rows that didn't have any spaces.
