Peel garlic cloves easier: Zap garlic cloves in the microwave for 15 seconds and the skins will slip right off.

Lighting your barbecue without firelighters: Instead of using firelighters which are harmful for the environment and your health, use three pieces of kitchen roll, screwed up into a ball. Place the charcoal around it, in a pyramid shape. Then dip the kitchen roll in some cooking oil and light.

Removing grass stains: Put a little bit of cold water on the grass stains. Then pour a little sugar on the stains, and put your clothes in the washing machine.

Preventing germs on potatoes: To prevent germs from growing on your stored potatoes, just put one or two apples in your stock of potatoes.

Reducing the tumble dryers time: To reduce the tumble dryers time, put a dry towel in with the wet clothes. It will then save it ten minutes.

Making presents for your guests: A little idea for making little easy presents for your dinner table is to fold a napkin into four triangles, bringing the points to the center of the napkin, and sticking a little chocolate inside. Then simply put it on your guests’ plates.

Turning on stiff taps: If you've got a tap that is very stiff and hard to turn on, don't over force on it, spray some penetrating oil onto the handle. Leave it to work ten minutes. If it's still stiff, add some more oil and wait a further ten minutes.

Get rid of puffy eyes with tea bags: Soak two tea bags and place in freezer for 2-3 minutes - they should be cool but not frozen. Apply to each eyelid and relax for a few minutes.

Salt glow rub: Mix the juice from 1 lemon with 2 parts coarse salt and 1 part olive oil to make a paste. Step into the shower and massage into body. Turn on the shower and rinse. Pat dry and apply a rich moisturiser .
