The realness hackney tonight
http://www.showfilmfirst.com/pin/809073

Big Broad Productions and The Big House are joining forces for their first co-production, The Realness, a new urban musical about a bad boy's struggles on the road from zero to hero.
When some people won’t believe you’ve changed, and others don’t want to let you change, it isn't easy to make a new start. Jay Johnson is fresh out of prison and determined never to go back inside, but for all his efforts to stay on track, he finds himself making a detour in the wrong direction. Finally he's faced with the hardest choice of his life and only then does he understand what he has to do to change things for real.

With an upbeat score ranging from rap to reggae, gospel to grime, The Realness is a new musical with book by Maureen Chadwick & David Waton and music & lyrics by Kath Gotts. The show is directed by Maggie Norris and features music tracks produced by Semothy Jones (Plan B) and choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille (Some Like It Hip-Hop).

We have a few complimentary tickets to: Zik'r on Friday night at the Union Chapel

The central theme of the show follows the path of flamenco from India to Spain, and the exploration of the mystical roots of Sufi. ZIK’R seamlessly blends traditional instruments with exciting electronic elements and the whole performance is alight with spectacular, powerful flamenco dance.

JOHN CLEESE So, Anyway...26/11/14 19:30 Aylesbury Waterside

#1509 Post by boz » Tue Nov 25, 2014 3:32 pm

SFF Code 929131

26/11/14 19:30 Aylesbury Waterside Theatre ,

http://www.showfilmfirst.com/pin/929131

John Cleese is a comedy legend and the most senile member of Monty Python; Best known for his idiosyncratic turns in Monty Python and Fawlty Towers John will be bringing his unique comedic perspective to audiences across the UK this autumn with tales from his new book, So, Anyway.

Cleese has achieved a lot in his career which started as a sketch writer for BBC Radio’s Dick Emery Show and then The Frost Report. After this, stardom beckoned, and Monty Python was created with Cleese co-writing and staring in four series and three films. He went on to achieve further success as the neurotic hotel manager Basil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers, which he co-wrote with then wife Connie Booth.

After huge UK success John went on to crack the USA with A Fish Called Wanda (which he wrote and starred in with Jamie Lee Curtis). The late 1990s saw the unstoppable Mr Cleese appear in Bond movie The World is Not Enough and later Die Another Day.

Exploring his thoughts on topics as diverse as the nature of comedy, the relative merits of cricket and water-skiing, and the importance of knowing the dates of all the kings and queens of England, this is a masterly performance by a master performer.
