Hello Russell,
i'm sorry for your experience. Having discussed the matter with Cineworld they have advised that in future they need an hour to get everybody into Sky Superscreen and to get the film started.
We will be discussing here and amending our timings accordingly.

I am really surprised by this, an hour, to fill the screen. It isn't that large, easily done in half of that, has been before, so why a change.

Anyone any thoughts to this.
Well, I know that everyone was seated and ready to go by 18.30. I could see no reason why the did not begin at that time instead of 19.00.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

I bet it's because of the situation with the free popcorn vouchers and making people queue forever for them!

I hope it doesn't mean a 5.30pm for 6.30pm start as I can't be there that early - I'd rather have a 6 for 7pm start if they are changing.

Ugh that will only mean people will start showing up earlier as it will say 5.30 (for a 6.30 start) on the ticket and then people assume they have to arrive before that to be early :/

It honestly isn't the filling the screen that is the problem (it goes really quick as they don't even check tickets) but oversubscribing or people using fake tickets. IF they're going by an hour to fill the screen I hope that at least they'll scan the tickets or something to ensure that people don't get in on forgeries :/

Very interesting article and it's bizarre watching the youtube compilation, it stands out a mile once you are listening for it.

As for the movie, it was ok. Didn't really put a foot wrong, but didn't have the spark of Iron Man or Spiderman etc.

Tommy Lee Jones and Stanley Tucci got a few laughs and agree with a lot of people that the first half was better than the second.

The Avengers loooked fun from the trailer at the end, I hope all the characters get a decent amount of screen time and it's worth the wait, as there's been at least a 4 or 5 movie / ten hour prologue to it!

They should have a "free popcorn voucher only" queue, and have the popcorn prepared already, so it's just a matter of "sweet or salty?" then hand over the popcorn bag, they could even scan the damn vouchers in later when everyone is watching the film. It really annoyed me how long it took to get that popcorn, it's so disorganised and slow.

Was an OK. Still have my issues with showing films in 3D, but that is for another day. I agree that the first half was far better than the second. So much so that I didn't even realise that he had actually killed the bad guy (I am certain I hadn't fallen asleep).

There were some comic moments which had us chuckling so I would definitely say it is watchable. I would've liked some more bare chested scenes to keep me entertained, but that's just me.

My overall impression at the end of the film was that it felt like a prequel without the sequel (yet) - it was introducing you to characters that would be explored more in later films, without putting the work in to make the current film stand up on its own.

Saying that I'd give it 6.5/10

Stuff the free popcorn, just put it on the seats  Maybe they think that by making you go to get popcorn, you will then b*y drinks etc
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

Just as well I never made the trip then, I was stuck at a bus stop for nearly half an hour, no buses, awful traffic, would have been cutting it close, so I gave up.. Going to see it later with a voucher, in 2D!

It's quite an expense to provide popcorn for every seat.

It's cheaper (and less trouble for them) to make that those that want the free popcorn queue for it.
