BBC Symphony Orchestra: Afternoon on 3 - Radio 3 | 25 October
This free Maida Vale studio concert will whet your appetite for the BBC Symphony Orchestra's forthcoming Sibelius Symphonies series at the Barbican. The programme focuses on a Finnish theme, with Uuno Klami's Sea Pictures in addition to two pieces by Sibelius, Finlandia and his Karelia Suite.
Conductor Neeme Järvi, who returns to the BBC Symphony Orchestra in April 2012 to conduct Sibelius's Second Symphony, will also talk about his relationship with Sibelius's music during the concert, which also features the UK premiere of Estonian composer Tõnu Kõrvits' Sung into the Wind.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, BBC One's new primetime entertainment pilot, The Dare, sees ordinary members of the public take on trained professionals at their own game. They'll attempt to convince the audience (and Claudia) that they have been doing their act for years... when actually it will have only been for a matter of weeks.
Challenges include a daredevil motorbike stunt, an incredible aerial showdown and performing as a rock legend.
The studio audience vote on who they believe is the professional act but if an act but if an amateur can secure half of the vote, they win a cash prize.
Will the imposters be able to fool the nation or will you manage to see through them?
