Not putting a tree up this year. We're having building work done at the moment and the whole house is a mess! It won't be done until around 16th December and then I'm going 'home' for Christmas on 21st so it's not really worth it.
Just found out my office is having a Christmas party...everyone is invited, including partners....but excluding all admin staaff (which is me!). Feel quite upset actually.... Isn't it a bit rude?

Yeah I am pretty cross...but mainly just can't understand why they would want to be so mean. It's just really horrible.
Especially nice because I now have to organise it!
Admin staff here is just me and one contract lady...so not really a huge group to go and complain. Don't want to go now anyway!

Me and my mum are gonna go pick a tree at the weekend, normally we go to Spain for christmas so we don't tend to have a tree but as we aren't going this year it is the first time in ages we are actually are getting a tree, not decorated one since i was about 10 so i am very excited.

There is a deal at B&Q to 6 December - spend £30 and they give you a Christmas tree for free. It's a 4ft or 5ft spruce I think (worth £10).

Yes, especially as they have no problem inviting partners, we never do that, it's for employees only! How cheap and un-Christmassy to exclude the very people that ensure the day to day running of the business! In our company the admin staff get special recognition at Christmas!

I agree really mean spirited..but I'd say something even if I didn't want to go especially as you are supposed to organise it...plain mean and thoughtless..make sure they have humbugs on the table instead of mints after their meal
