Anyone else at Wimbledon? This is the second time I've been there and the second time the screen didn't widen when the film started. Pretty annoying

Don't worry I cried throughout too! It was so so sweet! I love this movieTheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:F3lix and Logi, please tell me how to hold back the tears because I had no control over it while seeing UP this evening, it kept trickling down...help! Its not right damn it....Damn Pixar, they keep doing this to me! I mean UP was absolutely beautiful, funny and poignant and had me weeping already 10 minutes into the movie and not for the only time during the film either. Pixar for me have always been like God to me ever since the 80s when they were just making 5-10 minute shorts. So unfairly, I have stupidly high expectations for every film they make. Yet, they never disappoint. I rank this UP there with Finding Nemo and Toy Story. The dogs were absolutely hilarious and the villain looked suspiciously like Kirk Douglas, I wonder if that was deliberate.
Love the short movie at the beginning too! So much better than their last one, The Magician (shown before Wall-E) which I thought was their weakest short.
I was at the Surrey Quays screening and THANKFULLY was NOT in 3D! I'm sorry but 3D is too much of a distraction for me when it comes to feature length movies. I love 3D as a ride attraction in theme parks (like Universal Studios and Disney World) and for some short documentaries at an IMAX. But not with feature length films.
10/10
Happy now a_person?
Um I think so if its the bit Im thinking ofdestresserai wrote:Just a thought - did anyone see the plaster screen that is used for the adverts in the actual film. If it was there both my son and missed it but not sure how we managed to! Was it when Kevin hurt his leg??
I thought I saw it in the preview 2 weeks ago but don't hold me to thatBeate wrote:I tell you what I am missing. It is in the trailer and I am pretty sure it was in the first screening in June: when the house goes up for the first time, Carl sticks his tongue out to the guys from the retirement home and makes a "ppppfffffft" sound. I did not see this in the new previews since Sunday. All he does now is shout to them that he will send them a postcard from Paradise Falls!
I'm so glad that the critics aren't slating it! Its such a fantastic movie and it does deal with some very adult themes such as old age. I personally found that this is the reason I loved the movie so much. I only wish my Grandad was still around so I could have gone seen it with him (even if I am 29)
