As well as a cake-eating and cinema-and-theatregoing habit, I have another, also rather expensive one combining them all, which is b*ying cake when on my visits. Never part of the plan, but I rarely succeed in resisting, either! So yesterday I succumbed to a huge slice of something dense, moist, gooey and delightful at a matinee - just as well I'd avoided b*ying cake at the cinema beforehand...

For fans of the free JL drink + cake offer, I've rung to ask whether this will be ongoing or limited to the first 6 months, i.e. the vouchers initially sent. I was told it should be indefinite and that further vouchers would be despatched idc. Hope this is right but good news if so!

Just about to sample this month's free JL cake, as though I had the drink at the Stratford branch yesterday, it was such a hasty visit that as usual, I stashed the cake away to enjoy at greater leisure. Luckily for Ms Greedy-Guts, though they hadn't much left, there was a new one to try: banana and honey loaf, and I was given such a generous slice that it would probably last a sensible person 2 days. (Must go back sometime soon for a proper look round at everything else...)

Thanks for the update Mrs T :cheer:
Had my first JL experience yesterday. Diane65 had done a rekkie, visit albeit in Manchester, to ask about gluten free cakes...she came back with YES they do them.

It was about 5pm when we went in and I had a flapjack, also a first and hot chocolate. Found the flapjack very sweet but we are going to try and get there MUCH earlier on a weekday to try the next voucher.

The OH's brother and SiL didn't know about the cake offer, even though they seem to only b*y from JL. We generally go in for a browse (quick spray on the perfumes) and to keep out of the rain before going to cineworld.

Glad the were able to enjoy the JL deal and hopefully the other cakes will be much nicer :cross:

Honey and banana loaf sounds delicious MsThrifty. I went again to day with OH's cake voucher as he didn't want it with DD plus akh43 and her DD. I had the Victoria sandwich yet again as I just love it - a bit too much  I need to get out of the habit or at least walk there to burn off the calories.

More JL vouchers Ms T - that sounds heavenly. I have one left and wasted the first three feeling to uncomfortable going in for a freebie - me a doughnut :wall:

I'm hoping they have the rhubarb and elderflower cheese cake on Tuesday - it was lush - yum yum yum yum yum yum yum....

Got myself a leg of New Zealand lamb the other day - never cooked this before - does anyone have any super duper techniques or tips they'd kindly share with me - pretty please? :P :cross: :P :cross: Anything that doesn't envolve sugary glazes o/

0 freebies coming up, seen 26 previews, seen 12 non-previews so far - yippee...pa*d for 8 - Hubble 3D 5.50, Non-stop 6.60, Transcendence 6.60, The Amazing Spiderman II 3D 7.38, Love Punch 5.94, Locke 5.31, The other woman 5.94, The monuments men 5.31 and cancelled another 5 for various reasons. Purchased a Cineworld Card, so I'm seeing a lot less free films as i am not travelling as far to see them.

Up all night studying so I thought I'd try roasting the leg of lamb. Basted it in olive oil with sage, thyme and rosemary. Covered and put in oven at 180 for just over two hours approx 25 mins for 450g + an extra 25 mins (got the timing online for a medium roast). If anyone can give recommendations for next time let me know - pretty please o/ o/

Gosh, looks like I'm having a conversation with myself while all normal people catch some zzzzz's :snooze: :snooze: Well my lamb leg was a total success. Herbal aromas mixed with juices and gave the meat an awesome flavour. The meat is also cutting like butter from the bone - well chuffed _0^ _0^ I shall disappear and study now......
