Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Decided to go and see it again this morning and enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time.
Also spotted quite a nice visual gag prior to the Tom Felton line and response that amusingly hints at what is about to happen.
[spoiler]On the TV screens outside the cages they are showing an episode of Mister Ed. A slightly more benign and non-threatening talking animal.[/spoiler]

wow. am a bit surprised by all the love for this film. i thought it was just silly and not very good

there were many things that didn't make sense to me SPOILER [spoiler](eg. i am no scientist but is gas really a more efficient delivery method than intravenously? also if i inhale an experimental substance at work and then fall ill i think i might report it - that gets filed under common sense).[/spoiler]
i saw it in 2d but thought it looked ok but the cgi was very very obvious throughout as i wasn't able to get lost in the story.

gets a 40% from me and 10% of that is for the orang-utan.

[spoiler]Its not a gas but an aerosol. The delivery system is a live virus, breathing it in is a perfectly viable method.[/spoiler]

Saw this today and thought it to be very very good, surprisingly emotional at times, will defo recommend it 9/10

I was at the wimbledon venue and it was nicely full but didnt start until 11am - which was very annoying.
b*y OMG - what a fabulous film I absoutely loved it. I would i know this is swearing "p*y" to see this The the gasp from the audience as he spoke and the end "cesar is home" made me smile and it was bizzare as everyone was routing for the apes. Slightly strange at seeing lithgow portrayed as he was, as i still have him in my mind as the pyshco from Dexter.
A solid 9.5 from me and hubby and we brought my parents who enjoyed it aswell.

Saw this this morning at a very empty Odeon in Norwich. What a brilliant film! My favourite bit I think was the four main apes riding atop a San Francisco Street car super hero styley.

Loved the little references to Ape films of the past. Did my partner just imagine Charlton Heston on the television?

And I so loved the fact that we have double potential for two possible future films - virus wipes out the human race ala Survivors and manned mission to Mars returns many years later to a world ruled by apes.

Just watched it in Dudley.
What a real surprise. Loved it & apart from "Bright Eyes" I thought the CGI was top notch, well done WETA.
Andy Serkis has got to be up for some award for this his portrayal of Caesar it is stunning.
Cant recommend it highly enough. 9/10.

Alright now that we are all experts, who's going to explain the differences between apes, monkeys, chimps, orangutans, humans?

Apes is a generalised form of great apes which are mainly, but not limited to, Chimpanzees, Orangutans and Gorillas.
Monkeys are smaller, much smaller, typically the size of a poodle or smaller. Monkey is also used as an insult.
All apes, monkeys and humans have a common ancestor from a few million years ago.

Monkeys have tails, apes don't.
