Re: Free Theatre/Concert Thread
Hey there music lovers, if anyone fancies an invite to the Q awards the vodka people are giving folk a chance to win them - see below. I know this is a competition but wasn't sure where else to post this as competitions board seems to be only for films.
Q THE MUSIC IN STYLE
Live music doesn’t come any more exciting than this. Taking place on Monday 25 October, the Q Awards with Russian Standard Vodka – Britain’s biggest and best music awards – are just around the corner. Which means the industry’s most hotly anticipated pre-gig shows and the exclusive aftershow party are even closer – and, as a Russian Standard Vodka Originals member, you and a friend could be at one of them...
Jamiroquai
20 October
Chase and Status
21 October
Paolo Nutini
22 October
Mark Ronson
23 October
For the chance to win a pair of tickets to an amazingly intimate and live set by one of these inimitable artists or be at the star studded aftershow party, simply email the answer to this question to website@rsvoriginals.co.uk by 9am on Monday 18 October...
On which date are the Q Awards being held this year?
a 24 October
b 25 October
c 26 October
Don’t forget to tell your friends! If they register as a Russian Standard Vodka Originals member before midnight on Sunday 17 October, they’ll also be in with a chance of winning…
Good luck. We hope to see you there.

IF you are free and in the west end tonight, we have a few tickets available to Radamisto at the London Collisem:
A new production of the work that launched the composer's 20-year reign as London's Lord of Italian opera - one not to be missed.
PLEASE NOTE 7pm START - Seefilmfirst vouchers to be redeemed between 6.15 and 6.45pm
Following Christopher Alden's Olivier Award-winning production of Partenope in 2008, ENO strengthens its position as the undisputed 'House of Handel' with a new production of the work that launched the composer's 20-year reign as London's lord of Italian opera. Premiered to celebrate the reconciliation of George I and his estranged son, the Prince of Wales, Radamisto is a tale of feuding royal families, torn apart by illicit and irrational passions.
Conducted by leading Handelian Laurence Cummings and starring exciting young countertenor Lawrence Zazzo, this lavish and exotic new staging is directed by the multi-award-winning David Alden, whose Ariodante has long been admired as a jewel in ENO's Handelian crown.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE DISCREET AND NOT CHATTER ABOUT THE CLUB WHILST INSIDE THE ENO.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have a few complimentary tickets available to a show in Wimbledon tonight!
The History of the Big Bands sees the incomparable Darius transport the audience on a magical musical journey revisiting some of Swing's very best songs.
Starring Darius Campbell - In his most challenging role to date!
WITH A BIG BAND on stage live....
All the famous tunes from the world's greatest big band leaders are here, music from: Harry James - Benny Goodman - Tommy Dorsey - Duke Ellington - Glenn Miller - Count Basie - Woody Herman & Buddy Rich.
The History of the Big Bands features a magnificent 16 piece big band and a series of first class soloists who cover the famous solos as played by the original bandleaders. The audience is led on a musical ride from one band leader to another by the talented, charismatic and hugely successful Darius.
Darius is of course no stranger to the big stage. From pop star to opera star, he shot to fame through Pop Idol, had five Top 10 singles including the No. 1 Colourblind, a platinum album and a gold album. He's starred on the West End stage in Chicago, Guys 'n' Dolls and Gone with the Wind and he recently won TV's Pop Star to Opera Star going on to play a lead role in Carmen at the O2.
Following in the footsteps of the great crooners such as Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin and Andy Williams, Darius takes on his most challenging role yet. Crooning is a style that has its roots in the Bel Canto of Italian opera, but with the emphasis on subtle vocal nuances and phrasing found in jazz, and Darius could be made for the part.
The History of the Big Bands promises an outstanding evening of high energy, virtuoso musicianship and wonderful songs. A fantastic show it's sure to appeal to every big band fan and more

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Thread
We have a few complimentary tickets available (standing only) to Body & Soul at Camden Roundhouse tonight.
Annie Lennox, Melanie C, Lauren Pritchard and Alice Russell are among a host of stars who will perform at a special concert presented by the HIV charity ‘Body & Soul’ in memory of the late Dame Anita Roddick.
‘Voicestorm’ will take place on Wednesday 20 October 2010 at the Roundhouse. The event, an intimate evening of live music and inspirational presenters, will bring together exceptional female artists who are lending their support to this important organisation and campaign. Further surprise celebrity guests are anticipated to join the night.
Emma Colyer, Director of Body & Soul said: ‘Anita Roddick became a Patron of Body & Soul 14 years ago, and was one of the few in the UK who spoke out for people living with or affected by HIV. This event, which is held close to Anita’s birthday, is a fitting tribute to the legacy Anita left behind. It is also a chance to celebrate what she stood for as an activist and to highlight the fact that HIV is still a major issue affecting the lives of many children, teenagers and families here in the UK.’
You will have the option to make a donation to the charity on the night
Established in 1996, Body & Soul is a pioneering charity providing support to children, young people and families living with or closely affected by HIV.
Our mission is to enable members to build positive futures, guiding and supporting each member through the process of learning and personal development. Year after year Body & Soul has enabled an invisible, disadvantaged community to achieve beyond all likely outcomes. Tickets are usually £40 be we have a few complimentary – however, we ask you to show your support by visiting www.bodyandsoulcharity.org and donate whatever you are able to afford – every pound makes a genuine difference to the lives of our members.
Doors: 7PM Performance: 8PM. Showfilmfirst vouchers to be redeemed between 7 and 8pm on day of performance.
