Don't forget to complete your ESTA for air travel to the USA before 8th September, as they are starting to charge then! It's valid for 2 years so do it now if there is any outside chance you might want to travel to the US during that time, and if you have one already, doesn't matter, you can always re-apply, effectively adding duration to it.

I am planning a holiday either to the Carribean or Thailand. Any recommendations. I'm actually looking for somewhere nice and relaxing to go for a change (but with my friend, I know I'll probably end up bunjee jumping or sky diving).
She doesn't want to go to the Middle East again or South Asia and I certainly don't want to go to USA/Canda or Europe. What options are we now left with?

Well there's Central and South America - my friends have recently returned from Peru, where they walked the Inca trail and visited Machu Picchu. South Africa - you could go underwater in one of those cages and take photos of the Great White Sharks who took an interest in you.

I recommend Thailand for sure, best holidays I have ever had have been there. So much to see and do, friendliest people ever, beautiful beaches and once your there everything is dirt cheap. Yes, Thailand gets my vote too. Lovely scenery, awesome wildlife, friendly people, yummy food and cheap prices. Bangkok is crazy though.
I'm off to Berlin tomorrow morning for the Berlin marathon on Sunday. Nope I'm not running it. My other half is doing the running while I do the watching! We have to catch a coach to the airport tomorrow at 03:20! YUK!

Oh its definitely cheaper than Egypt. Well compared to places in Europe and America once you're there the cost of living is very low, food is cheap, drinks are cheap, transport is cheap, the shopping is cheap (though unfortunately for you if you want things from the markets you definitely have to haggle).a_person wrote:Thanks andrews, I'm not too keen on seeing sharks tbh.

The main cost is in your flights and accommodation. The first time I went, I went with my friends family who are a little adventurous so they just got the flights from here then sorted out accommodation once we were there, everywhere we stayed was really nice and all under £20 a night. The other times I've been were with my own family and my mum isn't as daring but she still managed to find good deals online but it was a little more expensive. If your willing to fly via somewhere that tends to knock the flight prices down.
