Just back from the Sheffield premiere.
I arrived at 6.30pm and there was already a big queue which got bigger and bigger, and was very slow to move. It took a while to find out what was happening, turns out security was taking phones and then sweeping everyone with metal detectors. They did a thorough job of it.
Into the cinema itself and I didn't know they made them so big anymore, I did a rough count of the seats and came up with 500.

As for the movie itself, it was an action fest pretty much from the word go, plenty of set piece battles including avenger v avenger v avenger. I really enjoyed it and there were plenty of in-jokes to keep us amused, and Stan Lee turned up as usual near the end.

I was excited about IRON MAN 3 back when I learnt that one of my favourite directors of all time (Shane Black) was at the helm, but man --- now I just can't wait!!!
Thank God 2013 is just around the corner.

BTW that
Space Invaders bit on the computer.
Hilarious! That scene wouldn't have felt out of place in Spaceballs.

That was the bit I read about in one of the IMDB topics a couple of days ago. I was so bummed...but hey, he might not be dead.
Afterall we already know Nick Fury was just trying to manipulate the team.
And like James Cameron once said, "no one ever dies in science fiction" :)
This was a real blast! It certainly lived up to all the hype. There were plenty of action scenes and it was genuinely funny, which was a real bonus. The film triumphs in bringing together all the different Avengers and making a truly entertaining visual spectacle. Tom Hiddleston as evil Loki is also superb. The 2 hours 20 minutes just flew by. So thoroughly enjoyable that would be happy to see it again. 10/10
