The London Film Museum celebrates all aspects of the British Film Industry. Since they started in 2008 they have been collecting and displaying items both historical and contemporary from major films. They aim to provide a fun environment for people to enjoy, while learning things they didn’t know, and taking away some good memories. Today's special Groupon offer is entry for two people to explore the cinematic wonders of this great South Bank venue. On top of that you also get a special photo of you battling your mate (or on your own if they're not cool enough) aboard the Death Star, in the halls of the Star Wars Tantive IV set courtesy of Lucasfilm!

There are hundreds of movies filmed in this country that people don’t realise, from Superman, Indiana Jones, and Batman to modern day films such as Green Zone and Clash of the Titans. Then there are the obvious ones like Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter which are unmistakably British. And if the film locations may not be British, you can pretty much guarantee that there is someone working on the film from this country. People who work behind the scenes are just as important to the whole process, as the ones in front of the cameras. For instance, they have a display of armour by Terry English, the world’s finest armourer, who has created costumes for Harry Potter, Excalibur, and Aliens. Inside you can see iconic pieces such as the original Rank Organisation Gong. The London Film Museum is constantly changing with new exhibits arriving all the time, so get this Groupon, then check their website to see what wonders you have in store!

What people are saying...
"I really liked this place. I went because of the Ray Harryhausen exhibition and because it was right around the corner from the London Eye which we had just gone on."

Groupon Deal for London Only

£10 instead of £30 for a cinema trip for two including tickets, popcorn and drinks, and a choice of current flicks including the critically acclaimed Tamara Drewe or maybe a special double bill screening of Inception and Insomnia at The Phoenix - Save 67%

ONLY VALID FOR The Phoenix Cinema, 52 High Road, N2 9PJ London

£10 instead of £30 for a cinema trip for two including tickets, popcorn and drinks, and a choice of current flicks including the critically acclaimed Tamara Drewe or maybe a special double bill screening of Inception and Insomnia at The Phoenix - Save 67%

London has always been a home and a hub for great film and great cinemas. Used as a backdrop for classic productions as varied as The 39 Steps, Die Another Day and 28 Days Later, the city itself has a certain celluloid quality to its colours and atmosphere. The same has been true of its great independent cinemas although with the advent of the now ubiquitous multiplex, much of this heritage has gone. However, there are still some of the best cinemas around and today's Groupon gives you the opportunity to experience the twin pleasure of a great film and an authentic cinematic evening at The Phoenix Cinema, one of London's oldest filmic venues.

You and your partner in crime will get tickets, two popcorns and either two large soft drinks, or two glasses of wine to sup, while you sit in the confines of a cinema that is celebrating its centenary. Situated in North London and being one of the first cinemas to introduce sound films, the history is clearly ingrained in those unique art deco walls and its independent status affords it the luxury of a varied programme of film and community events. Films showing this month include the critically acclaimed Tamara Drewe, Inception, Insmonia, Winters Bone and Made In Dagenham.

Having recently undergone a total restoration to bring out the real glamour of The Phoenix, you can now feel a part of those golden days at one of the nation's oldest cinemas. So get today's Groupon and raise a glass (or styrofoam cup) to celebrate their centenary and one hundred years of making people smile!
