Sad indeed. Loved him in Dirty Dancing and Donnie Darko, but I prefer him in Point Break. Such a badass character in this movie ! Anyway, we'll miss him :(

We should note, of course, his work on 500 Days of Summer...

R.I.P Patrick, Hollywood will surely miss you! You will be greatly remembered by all your fans, especially for your role as Johnny in Dirty Dancing.

I will watch your new TV series "The Beast" in memory and honour of you.

Beate, I have to agree. I think Orry Main was his best character - I'd argue that it was better than anything else he has done! It just so happens that I have spent the last few weeks watching North and South reruns on an obscure Sky TV channel (it is called Zone Romantica). The last episode was screened on Friday. I haven't seen North and South for years but it is an epic mini-series (particularly enjoyed books 1 &2) and it was nostalgic watching all the actors, particularly Swayze, in their younger days. So sad he has passed away at such a young age.

I was just randomly thinking of him two days ago and how I liked it that he played such a bastard in Donnie Darko :)
