Anakin, although I'm not a fan of pork, that looks really lovely! I love grilled food too! I just got myself a George Foreman grill actually - time to put it to good use! Just need to find a nice recipe to use on chicken. You think this recipe will work well?anakin wrote:This thread is making me hungry, which is not good for my healthy eating plan (so far, so bad...)
Mr Anakin made a the below receipe of Jaime's for a BBQ a couple of weeks back. Went down a treat I can tell you!

Have you tried doing your own style Nandos at home. We ofter b*y the Extra Extra Hot Nandos sauce and marinade our chicken breasts in that and sprinkle spicy season all on oven fries (although you can get piri piri seasoning)... im addicted to nandos marinades and will be making loads of keebabs soon to take away camping with us!a_person wrote:Just need to find a nice recipe to use on chicken. Do you grill the chicken first with any sort of flavouring and then put the marinade on it or do you use uncooked chicken with marinade and grill it like that. I'm not sure how to do it!
I've not found nando's peri peri seasoning in the supermarkets yet. Must keep an eye out for it.

Re: FOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!
I don't use cups. I convert it into grams (previously when I did though, I used smaller tea cups!).butterfly wrote: A_person in the recipie it says cup do you use a cup for coffee or the smaller old tea cups?
the other child isn't that mean she is just highly competitive and wants to do everything![]()
I use this for gram conversions: http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/gram_calc.htm This has always seemed most accurate to me. You can google cup to gram conversion, loads of stuff come up and I guess its up to you which one you want to choose, that site is my preference.
Thats the only thing I don't like about US recipes. They have good recipes but everything is in cups!!!

I've never understood why children are competitive like that.butterfly wrote: the other child isn't that mean she is just highly competitive and wants to do everything![]()

Re: FOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!
Well I've never made one myself but I think they're pretty easy peasy - rub the chicken down with salt and pepper and oil. Stuff a lemon the cavity (!), some garlic and rosemary and or thyme... bung it in the (pre-heated) oven at 180C for about 1.5 - 2 hours (check it to make sure it's done you can tell it's done when the thigh meat pulls easily away from the bone and the juices run clear). Take the lemon and garlic out (hot!) and squeeze the garlic out of the skin onto the chicken... and that's pretty much it (from what I've seen hubby do). Serve with crispy roast potatoes and gravy (and some greens if you want to). Yum yum!!a_person wrote:I have no idea how to make roast!

You could always rub the chicken with your favourite mix of spices instead, but not sure that mixes with the lemon and rosemary...

Re: FOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!
To be honest i marinade then oven cook mainly, but i have marinaded before putting them on the bbq which is probably the same... Im addicted to the taste of lemon and lime and often squirt fresh lemon and lime on my chicken. The piri piri seasoning is normally on the spice rack section in the supermarkets... normally on the top. :O) Nandos Rulesa_person wrote:Do you grill the chicken first with any sort of flavouring and then put the marinade on it or do you use uncooked chicken with marinade and grill it like that.
