Re: Latecomers to screenings.
I always arrive early as I want to get a good seat and I would be very peeved if I had to move so latecomers can sit together, and especially I had sat down first and people leave empty seats next to me. I also do not like missing the start of the film. Good one Spanner, for your piece.
I also get the kickers too. Most annoying!

Re: Latecomers to screenings.
Lol Spanner - re glare from bald heads - perhaps we should be given the option of using the 3d glasses at all times, in case there is an 'offender' in our vicinity!
). I remember this happening to me when I was at a Cineworld and they have this big black bar towards the side at the back. It wasn't a big deal but I said sorry, we're not budging as that is restricted view and luckily the person didn't try to argue with me but sat elsewhere.
Inconsiderate latecomers can be annoying but if you can take a convenient seat quickly and quietly (i.e. sit at the front or in an aisle seat, and is there really a need to take off your coat??) then I have no problem.
I hope you told the cheeky so and so where to go! I definitely don't mind moving one along in most cases as for me it usually neither here nor there - however if I can see that it is going to put me at a definite disadvantage then I'll happily tell you where to go (in a polite way of course - or depending on how I'm asked to movea_person wrote: I hate that too. Agree there with you! I take up one seat for myself, there might be a spare next to me but I don't use it but I do feel annoyed when I'm asked to move (like when I went to Sherlock Holmes and someone came 30 minutes into the movie and asked me to move from my seat with good view to some shit seat with hardly any viewpurely because he didn't want a shit view).

It's the ones who are late and squash past you to sit down who have stinky Nachos who really get my goat!

I've got another moan now - people who leave early because they don't like the film and let everyone know it!. Went to see A Single Man yesterday and I loved it but about 15 minutes in a couple of (homophobic, I suspect) people stomped out and swung the exit doors so hard there was an almighty bang. Unbelievable as it seems they must have had no idea what the film was going to be about.

Re: Latecomers to screenings.
Sorry but I must confess that I love nachos and always have it at the cinema... never knew it was stinky so next time around, I'll probably try and get seats which are a little far away from other ppl - assuming the cinema is empty...U never know until someone tells u :-)
On the other aspect of ppl leaving the hall early and disturbing everyone in the process, I'm totally with you... I mean, even for the lousiest movie (read: Mama Mia 2nd time), I stayed till the end as I didnt want to inconvenience the 8 ppl down my line...

Obviously you have not endured "Funny people" or "The Men who stare at goats".... although banging the doors is not acceptable when you leave I think if you clearly do not like a film then you are well within you right to leave a film. Not that I have yet but I would have during both these films if my boyfriend would have allowed me too. I found that not enjoying the film made me fidgit more

Re: Latecomers to screenings.
I sat through both those films with no problem - indeed, I really liked "The Men Who Stare At Goats". What puzzles me is why I walk out of plays far more often than films? Not ideal, as they tend to cost more to see, but sacrificing the money is worth it to escape. Thank goodness for intervals!

Re: Latecomers to screenings.
I agree, I have no compunction about exiting a film I can't stand a minute longer - but I do it quietly.

Re: Latecomers to screenings.
I absolutely loved both Funny People and The Men Who Stare at Goats. I laughed my head off at both and think Funny People is something approaching genius. I would also leave the cinema if I couldn't stand the film but quietly. It is strange, however, that I also tend to do this more with plays than films.
