I finished reading the book last week (which is AMAZING) so can't wait to see it either :)

Re: Cloud Atlas
I am not going this morning, dont see the point of seeing an epic movie like this on a titchy screen 10 at Wimbledon, not just for myself, so I gave them away.

Re: Cloud Atlas
7 people walked out at Hatfield in the first 30 minutes and I was strongly tempted to join them but made the fatal mistake of sticking it out.
I hated this. Convoluted and confusing, an almost non-existent plot, way too long and boring, not to mention some very dodgy facial prosthetics.

Re: Cloud Atlas
I decided not to go today, despite a fairy's kindness in booking me tix (which I didn't waste). For one thing, I have another chance with Sky so could afford to wait to hear what others thought; for another, it's ghastly weather for travelling and spending hours outdoors and above all, I had enough travel disruption yesterday due to rail engineering works and it could only be worse on a Sunday.

Re: Cloud Atlas
I think Tom Hank's acting was flawless, but the continuity of the film was terrible. Each of the stories would have been far more entertaining on their own instead of the poor editing that was given.

Re: Cloud Atlas
I think i'm still trying to work my reaction to the film!
One word that comes to mind is 'WOW'.
Everything, the storyline, every character, every event is so finely detailed and the reasons behind everything aren't mentioned but are apparently clear.(weird how that works)
I loved the elderly storyline, spoke so many truths about freedom and independence in a quirky way and
my GOD, Hugo Weaving, Mrs Doubtfire moment much?
Tom Hanks was astounding in my opinion, I'm struggling to fault him on any level, in any character, particularly loved the Valley People storyline, some part of me would love society to be reduced to such simpler times...
7/10
It is good, but too long in my opinion, and since after 3 hours you only gain some sort of philisophical inspiration, not entirely worth watching repeatedly(perhaps at intervals through out the year!)

Re: Cloud Atlas
Actually went there expecting to walk out (based on reviews I had read) - but maybe due to the fact I had very low expectations I actually thought is wasnt that bad and the time passed fairly quickly. I thought it would be far too confusing to follow - but it all seemed to make sense to me.
Not that I would go back for a second viewing though 6/10
