Saw this tonight in a pretty empty Glasgow though on the board it said it was sold out.

I liked it but then I kinda of grew up to this type of film. 7/10

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

Saw this today, not bad, I found the ending a little poor. The Qi elements were too far fetched (I like my martial art films a little more realistic to the real thing). I give it 8/10 for the first half, 4/10 second half, so overall 6/10 movie :)

Saw this with Yinster + OH and teddybear1 in Glasgow.
I have to say I did enjoy this film . . . I was pleasantly surprised. o/
It's neither a modern martial arts film nor an "ancient" China film but set in 1917.
I did not find reading the subtitles a problem and stayed awake throughout! It certainly did not feel as long as I expected.
Nice to see trailers for a change though not the adverts!
Had a very annoying couple in the back row talking on and off for the first half hour until I gave them my stage whisper "Shhhh!" I don't know if he was trying to impress the girl with his knowledge of Chinese films . . . :shifty: All quiet after "Shhhh".
Marks 7/10

I don't think I'll be going to the cinema for this one

Thought the couple in the back row was mom and son?

Just because a total moron posts a repeat on mse, it doesn't mean that the repeat post should also be repeated in the free film topic here. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:
A quick check would have found this original post http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... 58#p291644 which should have stopped the totally unnecessary repost.

I watched it last night and I loved it! It's beautifuly shot, both in terms of the landscapes and the camera movement when it's following the fighting sequences. The movie is pure and humane in it's message, the figting acenes are very good, the science of human body bits are super interesting, and there are comical elements too. I full-heartedly recommend it. Some of the plot is predictable and the first part - the build up - is better than the second, but overall a very good movie.
