Re: The Crazies
Been sent 2 emails already today to remind me of the screening for the Crazies. Maybe they are putting on a feast for us and worried about no shows!

Re: The Crazies
Saw this at the Vue Westfield this morning. Thought I had the entire cinema to myself until a group of teenagers came in, sat a few rows behind me and then talked through the entire film. Grrrr!!!
Luckily it didn't ruin the film. Actually thought this was pretty good. Sure it did have a couple of cheesy jump moments but overall I thought this a cut above most modern horror fare. Really like Timothy Olyphant as an actor (the rather terrible Hitman aside) and thought he managed to carry the movie well. Sure the whole trend for remaking past films is getting ridiculous now, but this was actually a fairly good example. Hard to believe that the director was previously responsible for Sahara. Worth a look if you liked the Dawn of the Dead remake.

Re: The Crazies
Well no drinks at the screenings I went to tonight, but very nice screen and comfy seats. It's quite similar to the one at Charlotte St hotel. They are probably the same owners.
Well as for the film, I was probably expecting some little post-modern touches in the vain of Zombieland and Shawn of the Dead or even if I compare it to Dawn of the Dead, it wasn't quite that dramatic (apart from the ending of course). I was a little bored if I am honest, the scenes all look very similar to other horrors/zombie films. 6/10 for me.
As for the ending, it's being used quite alot these days, like in films such as Knowing, Fight Club. Are the script writers just being lazy and can't find other endings?

Re: The Crazies
I saw this during the week with one of my freebie vouchers. I wasn't expecting much but it was okay-ish if you like that sorta thing, basically it does what it says on the tin. didn't think there was much suspense and it was a bit predicatable but hey, aren't many films? The incidental music proper got on my wick and maybe it's just me having rubbish eyes these days but I hate the dark/black/night scenes where you can hardly tell what's going on. oh and it's nowt like the original. errrm a generous 5.5/10 and given that i don't like much that is rather generous for me!
