Re: X+Y
Started with no sound in Sheffield but it was quickly rectified, I do wish they had restarted the film though as we never heard the diagnosis. I did really enjoy it I thought it was the right mix of funny and touching. 7/10

Re: X+Y
My faith in cinema is restored. This was beautiful, and the audience at Vue Islington rightly applauded.
Great British actors, great unusual storyline, great soundtrack. Tragedy, humour, weirdness - what more could you want. This was a million miles away from last night's terrible paint by numbers action film, and all the better for it.
9/10
Many many thanks to ejwrank for keeping us seats!

Stunning, honest, and visually top tier.
As good as "still Alice", which I watched the night before.
Only found out after I watched it that its from a guy who's come from documentaries.
Makes sense, look forward to his future films.
I think it's a shame it's a strong 12a, as without the couple sware words and some close ups this would be great for children to watch...
But currently wouldn't really recomend it to non teens

Re: X+Y
After an unsuccessful attempt to watch it a couple of weeks ago at a free preview (it inexplicably had subtitles, I couldn't concentrate as a result and left after a couple of minutes), I finally saw it in full this afternoon.
A really wonderful and moving film with excellent performances from Asa Butterfield, Sally Hawkins, Rafe Spall and Eddie Marsan
As a bonus, the film's soundtrack is full of the fine songs of Keaton Henson, making it a close cousin to BBC3 drama In the Flesh, just with more vibrant colours and less zombies.
