Well I loved this. Ok, so it wasn't exactly hard to figure it out, and why the heck Brad didn't just ask his wife outright instead of going to ridiculous lengths to find out was beyond me, but gosh, it was moving. And they can disfigure Matthew Goode as much as they like, I'll still recognise him instantly!
Must admit I didn't give two hoots about Casablanca authenticity - I was admiring the fashion of the time too much. Cotillard was amazing whereas Pitt, as much as I like him, didn't really move his face too much, although the chair kicking was impressive.

8/10

Saw it in a packed Edinburgh Omni last night when we finally got into the cinema itself. Left standing in the corridor till 6.20 and considering it was a 'Times' showing meant 75% of the queue were retired and a few could certainly have done with a seat. I even mentioned to another couple that they could have turned an Easyjet landing and take off in the time it took to prepare our cinema.

Still on to the film. I loved it, was expecting more of a war film so was very pleased as it was more of a love story. Recognised a few British actors in cameo roles and was engrossed throughout. Very pleased I saw it. 8/10

Lucky enough to see this at Charlotte Street Hotel, at a BAFTA members' screening,

Unfortunately, the film was disappointing, felt long and laboured. The effects seems fake and some of the plot a bit far-fetched. There were no sparks and no chemistry between the leads. A shame that the most important twist in the plot was already shown in the trailers.

Marion Cotillard is a delight to watch though. She was strong, whereas Brad Pitt is weak, he looked positively bored with the role. His character could have been played by anyone.

And is this for real, if his wife is proven to be a German spy, he was told he must kill her himself or he will be hanged himself too. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/films/2016/1 ... -war-film/
Chilling!

For a big Hollywood film it is very weak. 6/10
