well made, and I liked the idyllic scenery and the piano soundtrack. I am afraid I can never warm to a family who have an aged servant when they are fully capable of doing housework themselves.

I agree completely agree with the above, however I found the film overlong and indulgent and felt it would have benefited from some serious editing.

I thought that too, but appreciated it do much more on a second viewing. I think it was the knowing that there was no dramatic twists, action or explicitness coming that made it all the more a beautiful film to watch. I certainly didn't notice the time drag a second time round.

A beautiful film, although I was surprised at the audience at the Leeds Light showing. I was sat next to a lady who must have been around 70 years old! Don't get me wrong I think it is fantastic that the older generation are interested in a film about homosexuality. Put that together with a visually stunning, poignant tale and it made for the perfect night of cinema. I loved how open Elio's parents were towards his love for Oliver which was heartwarming to say the least. The final shot made me shed a little tear. I would give this 9/10 as I think the ending was a little cliche and predictable.

Missed this one in view of Storm whatever-name but loved comments by friends who made the trip that they found it so dull they tried to sleep through and were disappointed they couldn’t drop off!
