Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2012" club. I saw 32, which is rather delightful.. I beat Mr. Glass on free films but he narrowly inched me out on total films seen.

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

Learning English can be fun. I vividly remember our Canadian teacher at the language school trying to drown himself in the washbasin after one pupil in my class persistenly didn't understand how negations work ("They are happy, aren't they?") He could not get over it and greeted her for several lessons with "Hello Britta, you are happy, isn't it?") :bwl:
We loved him really. He ran around in short sleeves in bitter winter because "I am Canadian and I have ice in my blood!" Ah, memories.

One of the things I still often get wrong are prepositions. They are so hard!

My pet hate is people saying prostrate instead of prostate, no idea why it just irritates me

When I was attempting to learn German it was in the winter time and we were chatting in class, I said "Ich bin Kalt" thinking that I had said that I was cold but had just told the class that I was frigid especially embarrassing as I was pregnant.

Would have probably been worse if you had said the opposite, ha ha.

I think the first one sounds desperate and the second one seems like a normal question.

Thinking about this, these are closed questions and not open ones.

edit: wrong way round!

Exactly where does the confusion between think and thing come from? Crikey!
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.
