I am most certainly an owl, can no longer function in the mornings, too many years of evening and night shifts! lol

I understand what you mean about your job, I worked for a charity and one of the services was a Job Club helping women back into work, I left just over a year ago and the struggle for funding was bad enough then so I dread to think what it is like now.

I used to do piece work when the children were young - got up at 5am went to bed around 1 am and managed a nap during the day. Managed to get quite a lot done really but my eyesight has been ruined through it. Tried factory work for a week and couldn't cope with it. Eventually went back to college/uni for an education (was a bit naughty when I was younger), now working full time but still wake 6am every morning. I find that I have to get up, and be busy doing something, drives OH insane at times. I enjoy mornings.

I've always been a lark from childhood - I reckon it's because I was born in the early morning. Shift-work has made me even earlier so if I gave that up, I expect I'd revert to slightly more normal hours but still with a bias towards waking early. Suits me - you can get so much done before others are around, cluttering up the roads, shops, bandwidth, etc!

I was just called in to my manager's office and they have been reviewing my work and decided to give me a p*y rise! :P :j

That's great news, Diane65! And I like working when I can get things done. What really frustrates me is others being disorganised or, when I've done all the organising, messing up my arrangements. The worst thing is how many meetings get rearranged, re-timed, cancelled, or just start late.

Well done funthing29 and well done to your daughter Diane65!! Ms Thrifty I can't deal with lateness either, it drives me insane....to the fact that I'm a bit OCD about being early to the point I can feel the anxiety levels rising if I feel I won't be on time.

Yes, I'm always ridiculously early for everything. But armed with reading material or other things to do to pass the time usefully. I do need to try to stop rescuing people who don't get their act together, though - they never will if they know they can always rely on me for pens, paper, stamps, painkillers and goodness knows what else.
