Not Receiving Email Alerts

I seem to back to normal. Receiving the important alerts for FF, more tickets and DMs plus others.

For the second time recently we went over our max emails per hour threshold this morning, meaning a couple of hundred of you missed out on notifications.

Have to seriously consider restricting the subscribe feature to users with at least x posts.

Start with 5 and if that doesn't solve it go to 10.

Just a thought but would it help if we only subscribed to the bare minimum of threads?

It might be that some people are subscribed to many different threads such as Wanted. Offered. Some film discussion threads. Would this affect the amount of alerts going over the limit?

Good idea, AYBG! It might actually also prompt some people to post more than the single post they made now so their account won't be deleted.

But it might also mean a rush of people posting 10 smilies or other such banalities so they qualify and then never posting again? We would still have alerts going out to them and create the same problem?

I was one who missed out on receiving anemail alert. Thank goodness for jeanelle!

I would tend to agree with AYBG - not sure how many though, and we don't want people just posting smilies, as the Sparrow has said.

I think first thing is to remind people to only subscribe to alerts for the really important topics like Free Films or Free Theatre/Concerts. No one needs to subscribe to Swap Central or Comps, they can just be checked normally.
