Inception

Well I'm glad I didn't read any of the spolier before seeing Inception last night at the Stratford Picture House.

My only gripe about the cinema was the leg room. Being 6ft 7 it was a struggle, but thank the lord I was allocated an aisle seat. I actually liked the cinema itself. The staff were extremely present and generally happy - which was a change from the normal staff represented at some major cinema branches that I have attended. The bar staff even gave us a sneeky discount on a glass of wine which was top notch!

It was a little poor that the film started 30mins late, but the ticket vendor was obviously under staffed hence the increase of line length, but I guess through that little wait everyone got to enjoy the movie.

The movie it self, imho was excellent. I really enjoyed it. The concept engaged me, the acting was good and so were the special effects, not to mention the music score and sound in general.

I would have to give it a 9 out of 10 overall.

No I meant what was going on at the cinema?

Started 40 minutes late.

This was because everyone had to queue at the box office. This was so we could receive actual tickets. Which were allocated seating. Seemingly random. The seats in the very middle didn't fill up until the very end. SO those who turned up later got centre-centre seating. It was just beyond stupid. This was compounded by the fact that there were loads of people in that queue getting tickets for Shrek 3 or Predators and there was just one woman at the box office.

I complained very loudly to themanager before the start of the film and all he said was that's what he was told to do.

The Gate at Notting Hill also gave out allocated seating for Heartbreaker - maybe this is going to be the norm for Picturehouses now....

I remember they did the same when I went to watch the Bad Lieutenant. guess you probably right moondance. Such a hustle How could they waste the paper printing those tix as we already did the same!!! mmmm save the planet

Well The Gate always gave out their own tickets but you used to be able to ignore the seat number and sit where you like but at Heartbreaker they insisted on you sitting on the allocated seat...

Greenwich gives out real tickets but it's usually General Admission - I hope they won't follow that trend! They are usually good though in giving you the seat you want.

Picturehouse Cinemas have left the following status update on their facebook page "Anyone lucky enough to see Inception at one of our previews last night? Please tell us what you thought." Obviously they want your opinions on the film but if you've got facebook I'd go on and comment on the update and complain about the ticket hassle that a lot of you experienced. Maybe if enough people do it, they'll think twice about doing it in the future.

At The Gate they had already printed off a ream of tickets and just swapped them for the printout - I suppose that saves a bit of time but leaves out choice
