The comedian was pretending to be a chav. He made my bf turn around twice for everyone to look at him, laughing about the way my bf looks, but didn't find anything clever to joke about. I mean, the guy's whole routine was based on demeaning the audience, either because of age, accent, looks, etc, etc. He got annoyed when some guys in the audience cleverly insulted him.
He shouldn't have turned around. No one can make you do something. He should have just been stern and said no. People who think they are comedians because they insult people are people with no life and who clearly don't know comedy.
Well done to those who insulted him back. I bet that ruined his mood.

The northerners were not too happy about being made fun of. One of his jokes "When you look at the 99 sign (we were at the 99 comedy club), you guys must think hey I need to go shopping!!!". It kind of comes with the territory when you go to intimate standup gigs I suppose.
It was really packed out last night anyway and mostly looked like p*ying customers.

Err, that doesn't sound like a very funny joke at all!

It's all in the delivery and timing I suppose. Writing the equivalent on paper/online won't sound funny at all

Well it's funnier than listening to Paul Foot talk about the moisture of a cake for 5 minutes

Here's another line, this time from Paul Foot (who didn't really like): " Isn't Amazon just great! When you b*y a beyonce song, it tells you people who b*y beyonce, might also like to b*y a song from Pink.It would be so great if I had 10 pints of beer and then amazon would tell, people who drink 10 pints of beer, might also like to p*rchase a kebab! And then at the Kebab shop, people who drink 10 pints of beer and p*rchase a kebab, might also like to get into a fight. And then outside the kebab shop, you start fighting the police comes along and says people who like to get into a fight, might wish to join the police force........."

I didn't want to post this before the Monday and Tuesday free tickets for Design for Living were used but my daughter and I saw this last Saturday and we both hated it. The only redeeming thing was the amazing sets, but the play was the most awful nonsense and at 3 hours and 2 intervals we found it so tedious and only stayed until the end so daughter could review it for a theatre website she contributes to. We were amazed that so many people in the audience found it so hysterical.
I think we must have similar tastes as I was not impressed with it either and have been very surprised to read many favourable reviews on other sites about this production.

i didn't find it funny either. left at the second interval. but just saw that it has been given 4/5 stars and a good review in the guardian today. different strokes, i guess.

Glad they are doing free tickets for Krapps Last Tape. I noticed on the booking page for the theatre that the cheapest full price seats available are £30 which seems a bit excessive for a 50 minute play.
