It's that dreadful 2012 logo -- it looks awful and it's everywhere. Really disappointing.

The 87-mile-long road cycle race route is being tested on Sunday 14 August. 60 roads will be shut for 7 hours and thousands of spectators are expected. Access is restricted to those with a wristband. If this is the impact of the test-run, what will it be like for real? But it's great that the authorities are planning so far ahead.

Got badminton tickets via Iceland sales and applied via Slovakia for a few things but still not heard back so not optimistic. Who would have thought we live down the road from the games!

There was some talk about people in Olympic boroughs getting some ticket priority but nothing came of it. And of course it is Londoners who are footing a lot of the cost.

Yay! Had my Games Maker Interview today.

Before the interview, we were given more details about the roles etc. We were promised that the whole Olympics volunteering experience was fun and enjoyable as they want us to come back each day! I hope I get selected to drive those golf buggies ferrying the competitors around the Olympic Park, that would be fun!

Then a short video of Cadbury's spots vs stripes campaign in the lead up to the Olympics, then Sir Seb Coe, welcoming and thanking us for coming, congratulations and wishing us good luck in the interview and Eddie Izzard telling us what to do in the interview (he was funny!), and a word from McDonald's CEO, as McDonald's are doing the recruiting and training.

The interview was a bit disappointing though, the interviewer was a young graduate fresh out of uni, nothing wrong with that, but It was obvious she was very inexperienced, and I felt I had to make her feel at ease. She read from a script sheet (she mumbled and stumbled over the questions), and didn't seem interested in anything I had to say. Apparently, they were volunteers too, so good for her for doing it, however, I hope I don't lose my chance to volunteer based on her report back! So different from the other interview I had for the London Ambassadors.

We will know if we are selected in October.

That sounds a lot like my interview. I was given a coloured wristband, had my photo taken, then looked at some displays, then watched the intro video followed by the interview in a pod. I had my interview in February so it will have been a long wait by the time I hear in October.

Thanks evilzadi. Yes, that's it funthing! Did you meet Brian the EVS Team Leader? May be you won't remember, seeing your interview was 6 months ago! Gosh that is a long wait. I had a white wristband to keep.

I am really quite excited now, as they were talking about the pre-Olympics and I got tickets for those through the ballot, for next Sunday.
