I am obviously not a dye in the wool Muppet fan and while this was mildly entertaining and twice laugh out loud funny, the story was ever so slight, and it seemed overlong. There were some nice ideas like "travelling by map", and Walter was adorable, but I don't have any urge to see this again in a hurry. And Kermit's voice was all wrong.
And why didn't anyone at the end just say "Here's a dollar from my pocket to make up for the shortfall?" So they let the bad guy win but everything was just perfect?
Lovely to see canadian_turtle, valda, ejwrank, tilly, weirdfilms33 and rainey_lb and meet Octopus for the first time. There is no escaping for her now!

There was a guy in front who was keeping three seats "for his friends" who turned out to be a mother with two little kids. The boy was fine and quiet, but the girl was totally hyper, moving around, standing up, reaching over, drinking and chatting all the time - she was a total pain, and only got a bit better after I finally lent forward and said, quite politely, "Can you sit down, please." To think I helped the guy keep the seats with my coat...

The Toy Story short was by far the best part of it. The adults were too cheesy for me. Didn't hear many laughs from the kids and thought it was a bit too long for them.
Sitting with MM who had brought a friends 8 year old boy with her and he announced "it was rubbish" when we came out!! Oh dear!! :( 5/10

I think perhaps this was not for the kids but for people the same age as Jason Segal and who like Flight of the Conchords! me and OH loved it for all those reasons!!!

It was hilarious if you got all the in-jokes I guess and if you've never seen or heard Flight of the Conchords on TV or Radio then a lot will have passed you by. A few Flight stars in bit part roles and the wonderful tunes and lyrics by the Kiwi genius that is Brett McKenzie made the film for us. Total genius, but suspect the kids were clueless!

The story was pretty weak and Walter was annoying. Kermit's voice wasn't right either but it was still genius for me. Child of the 80s, oh dear! Not laughed out loud so much in ages. We loved this. Nostalgia and humour - well worth getting up early and queueing in the frozen drizzle for!

9/10 from me and 10/10 for the lyrics!

I particularly loved the cameo animool :giggle:
Shadowhunters: Looking better in black than the widows of our enemies since 1234.

That's the song that's Oscar nominated.

:D Brilliant. I had a huge grin during the whole film.

I agree Conchords fans will have a head start and tune into humour straight away.

Overall its perfectly pitched for everyone.

Songs were great, some nice fleeting cameos and loads of laugh out loud moments.

An utter delight, very tempted to see it again tomorrow.

This was brilliant. I loved its self-referential humour, effortless charm and songs (some of which were written by Bret Mackenzie). A very big fan of Flight of the Conchords, I loved the film's style and can understand why there wasn't much laughing from the kids (though I am sort-of grateful for that). I wasn't happy about the few people in the auditorium that chose to check their smartphones during the film, but I suppose in this age people just can't help it. Seriously, though, what is so important that you can't leave it for a few hours? Someone just broke up on facebook? OMG NOO I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU BROKE UP!!! I'M CURRENTLY WATCHING THE MUPPETS MOVIE BUT IT'S NOT LIKE ANYONE CARES THAT I HAVE MY ARM BOLT UPRIGHT AND EVERYONE CAN SEE WHAT I'M DOING.

Seriously, though, the film was fantastic. I loved its wide range of cameos and was overjoyed to see Kristen Schaal and Ken Jeong show up. The story wasn't quite as dazzling as its numbers but it's a deserved comeback for the Muppet gang. 8/10

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2012" club. I saw 32, which is rather delightful.. I beat Mr. Glass on free films but he narrowly inched me out on total films seen.

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

something you always wonder about is if animatronics and puppets are going to hold their own with a generation of kids raised on CGI. I can imagine a lot of children looking at Kermit and thinking 'I could put my hand up a puppets bum anytime whats special about that?'.
