Nooooo Lie To Me has been cancelled. And Hugh Laurie says House is probably going after next season.
Chicago Code cancelled as well. Shall I bother watching in now?

Lie To Me had disappeared off the American TV schedules so it's no surprise it has been cancelled. Damn Fox.
House is one of the top shows in the US so it would only be cancelled if Hugh Laurie refused to renew his contract.

Re: TV Series: Discuss, Review, Anticipate, and Wotnot
Fox has been on a cancellation spree today. They also cancelled Breaking In, a show which I was really enjoying. Only about 5 episodes aired so far and got decent ratings so it sucks that Fox (or Fux as my friend so rightfully called the network today) doesn't give the show a change to develop

Just watching Long Lost Family on ITV+1, love it, know what its like to have that nagging feeling to know where you come from and the nerves & excitement like no other when meeting the relative the first time! Hope they do another series.

I'm the other way round, I don't like this sort of thing. Being adopted myself, I didn't care until I came to London, then everyone wants to know what my parents were. When I did find my mother, it caused all sorts of upset to my family and me, and something happened that I had to keep quiet about as not to cause problems to her.raineylb wrote:Just watching Long Lost Family on ITV+1, love it, know what its like to have that nagging feeling to know where you come from and the nerves & excitement like no other when meeting the relative the first time! Out of interest is it all happy familes or do they show ones that went wrong?

Re: TV Series: Discuss, Review, Anticipate, and Wotnot
They have 2 people searching for a relative in each show, tell the story of what happened on both sides, then the beginning of the first initial meeting. They don't show ones where the person hasn't wanted to be found, there have been a couple where the relative has passed away.
I'm not adopted but didn't have contact with my dad from a young age, I tracked him down after almost 20 years, which wasn't easy but we have since remained in touch even though he now lives abroad, last year a half-sister from my dad tracked me down (she wasn't in contact with my dad either), I knew she existed but had never met her and only knew her first name, I'm glad she did, we get on really well.
I also have a half sister from my mum with my step dad, the strangest thing was that after my other sister found me, it turned out she lived very close to my mum, her younger sister went to school with my sister and she had actually joined my sister without realising who she was & her sister for a drink a couple of times and my sister had she looked like my brother! Small world.
I do realise that it doesn't always work out and people should expect to much from the new relationships as so much time has passed and the varying reason between the separations, I'm sorry that was the case for you.

Re: TV Series: Discuss, Review, Anticipate, and Wotnot
I'm not sorry it didn't work out, after all my Mother was the one who brought me up. As I say, it never bothered me living in a 99% white area but once in London everyone wants to know your ethnicity. I never did find out about my father nor where he comes from. Strange this was that when I came to London, I ended up about 4 tube stops away from my birth mother.
edit to say, I just looked her up in the phone book when I was bored at work one day

Bad news for all of you watching The Event. Its cancelled. And I dont think we're gonna get any proper resolution ending either, just a normal Season finale.

It might be picked up by another network though. Personally, I found it lacking in character. It didnt grip me enough.
