This is indeed in today's Sunday Times but I should point out that it is only valid for films with a publicised start time before 5pm.

Also, a slight correction is that tickets are £1 and not free but that it still a lot cheaper than a standard priced ticket!

The Wind that Shakes the Barley plus Q&A: 7 Feb Tricycle

#235 Post by JMP » Fri Feb 04, 2011 11:10 pm

THIS MONDAY 7 FEBRUARY 2-FOR-1 TICKETS

The Wind That Shakes the Barley (15) plus Q&A with Director Ken Loach
6.15pm Mon 7 Feb

The Tricycle are kindly offering See Film First members a limited number of 2-for-1 tickets for this special screening.
Call the Box Office in advance and quote ' Ken Loach 2 for 1' offer to get tickets for just £5.50 each!

Ireland 1920: workers from field and country unite to form volunteer guerrilla armies to face the ruthless 'Black and Tan' squads that are being shipped from Britain to block Ireland's bid for independence. Driven by a deep sense of duty and a love for his country, Damien abandons his burgeoning career as a doctor and joins his brother, Teddy, in a dangerous and violent fight for freedom. As the freedom fighters' bold tactics bring the British to breaking point, both sides finally agree to a treaty to end the bloodshed. But despite the apparent victory, civil war erupts and families who fought side by side find themselves pitted against one another as sworn enemies, putting their loyalties to the ultimate test.

'It is a finely made, finely acted piece of work. For this, and for his remarkable and uncompromising career, Loach deserves his golden palm.'
The Guardian

A Q&A with acclaimed director Ken Loach, patron of the charity, will follow the main screening.

Please join us at 5.45pm, before the main film, for a series of films entitled DON'T DIVIDE US from 5.45pm, made by the Camden Abu Dis Young Film Makers for Human Rights 2010.
