oooh, that is a lot earlier than I expected, well half an hour earlier! Will have to be up at 5am! Gulp! As we have a long day ahead, probably do it on the Monday then, and can sleep on the train back! We will lose an hour on Sunday, with the clocks going forward so, probably not do the trek on Sunday either.
Diane65 wrote:I too am getting very excited and Arthur's seat at sunrise would be the perfect place to start the day then we can meander back to Holyrood House passing the parliament building etc. That's if you don't mind me joining you :cross:
Of course not, it will be lovely. However, I will decide on Friday evening, whether to do it or not on Saturday, Diane65. It is my OH, he's not very good with mornings, and we have two early mornings in a row, Thursday to catch the train to Edinburgh and Friday to catch the boat at Berwick! :D :shifty:

Ok we'll leave Arthur's seat on the Saturday and as Biggins says she doesn't want us nodding off at the meet up.

Friday as planned by TheyCallMeMrGlass, shame I will miss the boat trip :tears:

Saturday suggested itinerary:
Calton hill at 9.30am to see the monuments and have an amazing view over Edinburgh
Then meander towards the Palace of Holyrood House for around 10.15ish it's pretty from the outside and if anyone wants to go in that's fine as we will just be sight seeing up the Royal Mile.
10.30 Scottish Parliament building have a free visit there for half an hour or so
Then as Yinster suggests we can visit any of these free attractions http://www.royalmileedinburgh.com/what-to-see.html and have a look at the outside of Edinburgh Castle which is just gorgeous.
Meet up at the Advocate
Camera Obscura (can use Tesco Vouchers) after the meet up and before the ghost tour - if people don't fancy this there is always the Scottish National Gallery or maybe even both as we have 3 hours between the meet up and Ghost tour.
Yo Sushi after the ghost tour.
If anyone has got any energy left after all this I'm sure that the locals can suggest hip and happening places. ;) If I'm being my normal ridiculous self adding too much just tell me and I won't be offended.

Sunday: Royal Yacht Brittania in the morning (can use Tesco Vouchers).

I head back home after that so everyone have a fun time maybe even go to John Lewis for a free coffee and cake if anyone has any vouchers left.

PS I will at times shortly so people can meet us on the way. I think that most people have my mobile number so text me if you can't find us and want to :giggle: People might be avoiding me like the plague if they want to have a rest.

PPS There was also a park to walk through on this thread so I'll have a look for that.

Also don't forget about The Museum of Scotland in Chambers Street which is a hop, skip and jump from the Royal Mile. Free and has an amazing view of the city from their roof terrace.

If anyone is driving to Edinburgh and requires parking do let me know as there are some streets 5 minutes away from the centre where it is free to park after 17:30 on Friday till Monday morning. Just thought of this as I will probably arrive and p*y for a couple of hours till it is free.
