The programme has been ruined !! Why is it on in the afternoon ?? I thought it did well for Channel 4
I'm gutted! Its one of the shows my company does, and I was really pleased it was coming back. then I found out about all the new dealers, and the timeslot. Being on every day at stupid O'clock is crazy 8O
I enjoyed the last series so have set it to record. Have to agree it does seem silly putting it on at the new time.
Similar thing was done last year with Celebrity Masterchef by BBC

Have to disagree re 4 rooms. I don't have a tv / tv licence so cannot / do not watch "live" tv, but do watch on ch4's youtube channel (added bonus...no adverts) when it appears at about 4 o'clock.

must say i am loving the new series. seems to be faster paced & nice to see the new dealers hamming it up as if their lives depended upon it.

anyhows.... watched Rear window last night on dvd. James Stewart at is peak. back in the day when a grey haired batchelor raised no embarrasing questions. magnificent film that is heads and shoulders above anything i have seen at the cinema this year.

Rear Window is one of my favourite Hitchcock movies on a level with North by Northwest, Vertigo and Psycho. I have 2 Hitchock Blu ray boxsets, one of which I recently played through, the restoration from most are superb and sound mix is excellent on all of them. If you get good deals on them (HMV done a really good deal on it when I b*ght it) I recommend them highly. The worst film however, is Saboteur, dont bother with that one, Hitchcock at his worst, should not have been included in his "Masterpieces" collection.

Last night, I watched a Colombo episode. I have seen every single one, most more than once but I never ever tire of watching the tacky raincoat dressed lieutenant when he's on TV, his shows are timeless.
My film reviews here . ......My FMUK 2014 ratings.......My FMUK 2011 ratings.......My FMUK 2013 ratings . ......My FMUK 2012 ratings .

Oddly, "North by Northwest, Vertigo and Psycho" and Rear Window were all in the the boxset dvd i b*ght last week from Fopp in nottingham last week for a fiver. Not made the transition to blu-ray yet....my monitor is not large enough to justify the switch.

Best 5 quid I have recently spent...(cannot do the pound sign on my new apple keyboard / arch linux combo...doh)

edit: north by northwest not included in boxset, but rather The Birds (another classic that I watched at about the age of 8 on telly & scared the cr*p out of me)

Something I watched last week that may be of some interest to all you film lovers.....

The Hollywood Reporter conducts roundtable interviews with nominated actors / directors / writers / composers etc etc, prior to both the Oscars & the Emmys. These last about an hour & are totally fantastic.

Just finished watching the actors roundtable which included Alan Arkin, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, John Hawkes, Matt Damon, and Richard Gere. All around 1 table !

You can find lots of these on youtube, or just click on following link for a good selection:

I'm watching a re-run of 'I, Claudius' - top-notch TV Drama, with a stellar cast.

Gilda. Superb & dark & twisted. Well worth a watch.

Lots of film noir cliches, but hey ! it's a film noir.
