SWAPPING TICKETS

A swap needs to be:
For the same movie on a different date at the same location.
A different movie at the same location.

Otherwise you need to offer up what you can't use and post a wanted ad for what you need.
oops I didn't know that
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

There is no problem with that if you intend to use the location you have booked if you can't get your first option.

But to try and swap Leicester for Bristol or another was Portsmouth for London, is quite frankly ridiculous, it's never going to happen. It may have been booked in error, but the sensible thing to do would be to cancel the ticket you booked in error or offer it to someone looking for that location and put a standard wanted request for the location you do want.
As said mine was a genuine mistak (look at how hard it is to tell the 2 cinema de lux apart and you'll see). As I said I was planning on offering it out I just thought I would see if anyone had Bristol before then and as no one was offering Bristol without a swap I thought I would try my luck. This is the first movie I've got tickets to in months and I'm actually really gutted that I did mess this up. Luckily it now means ISMADDER gets to go to their preferred cinema as they have messaged asking me for the tickets (and in fact if anyone had posted saying "can I have the tickets" on the swap thing I would have given them to them so as I said it was a genuine mis-booking and yeah fair enough I was trying to get the cinema I wanted but I was gutted that I made the mistake and didn't want to just cancel the tickets like I would have done. As it is by posting here I actually managed to do my good dead for the day so have a go if you want but at least I know I did the right thing. I wasn't just booking tickets for the sake of it all over the country like others do. I made a genuine mistake and now someone can benefit from it but I just wanted to try and benefit too. I have already posted on the Wants board and actually did before I posted the Swap. Just because I'm honest enough to stand up for the genuine people over here doesn't really require the backlash. As said, I'm glad I didn't cancel now as I could help someone else out! And I'm not trying to have a go or anything just wanted to let you know that there was a good end for someone out there!

I agree that there are far too many people who get tickets for random locations and either never go or don't cancel the tickets and it drives me mad but this is the first time I've ever booked the wrong location and I just thought I would see if anyone out there would take pity on me. There were numberous SWAPs for Bristol for something else but none for what I had and so I thought by posting someone might take pity and donate me their Bristol tickets. I wasn't trying to wind people up I was just trying to correct a mistake that I am genuingly gutted about!

I don't think anyone has had a go at you personally but you must admit that the many many swap requests for locations very much apart today were suspicious so I took the decision to take them all down without exception. As Rainey said, it's much better to treat all Offered and Wanted requests separately instead of making them part of a swap deal as that would make it much more difficult for a transaction to take place.

Thats OK. I know how you all feel because that's how I always feel but I was hoping I could correct my fatal error lol! I may end up having to p*y for the cinema now to see it and I am far too tight for that lol! :D o/

Agree with this. The majority of swap requests were silly - Cardiff and Bristol I can understand at a push because someone might work in one and live in the other, but no one is going to swap a London ticket for Plymouth. There will be some genuine swap attempts, but it did seem like people were just booking tickets for whatever cinema was left, even if there was zero chance they would get there themselves.

On a slightly off-topic note, I do apologise for getting my posts a bit wrong recently - someone, possibly you, Beate, has very kindly been merging/moving my posts for me. I'm afraid I saw the Ted and Batman codes and was a bit too excited to think straight! It is appreciated and I will try to do better next time.

Really wish I could listen to the radio all day. Does anyone know if they post codes to Facebook at the same time as they air them? Might be my only option! Thanks

Same here mate, also tried listening to Kiss FM - they are releasing codes but the host just mentioned to check on their twitter for codes so not sure they would even announce it over the radio?
