Do you know how old I am... well when I was young, teachers could 'cane', yes 'cane' naughty kids.

Kids would be frightened when a grown up told them off... any grown up, not just someone they knew.

Teachers were respected.

Common sense prevailed and we weren't PC mad. In fact, I'm not even sure the term 'politically correct' had been 'invented' then.

Not only that, but there was stuff like Angel Delight and Smash, Sherbert Dips around. And Spam was something you ate.

That's how old I am. Where's the smilie of the old biddy with a walking stick?!

When I was young, the teachers used to give us a bottle of milk every mid afternoon, I used to really look forward to it, often staring at the milk crate in the corner. Then one day, there was no milk crate. Never said anything, but I was sad. Same again next day. The other children didnt seem to mind. By the third day and no milk again, so I got depressed and asked the teacher why dont we get any milk? She said, well little one, a wicked witch named Thatcher took it all away. I paused and thought for a while. Then I asked the teacher, "how can she drink all that milk?".

Not one to boast but I was a milk monitor at school with a boy (YUK) as he didn't know how to behave and I did!!
