I'm in the north of Portugal right now, visiting my family.

The weather hasn't been great. Torrential rains on some days, some homes were floaded.

I wonder, is it just the Portuguese, or does anyone else eat boiled salted cod with boiled cabbage and potatoes on xmas eve? Not very exciting, I know.

Time for a joke to raise the festive cheer!

What did the deaf, dumb, paraplegic boy get for Christmas?

At the moment I am in Ulm in Southern Germany, we will move on to Stuttgart tomorrow, then go to Kaiserslautern for two days (where our friend wants to take us to Strasbourg for a day), then back to Stuttgart.

Ulm! I love Ulm and that makes me feel so nostalgic. When I lived in Germany as a student, it was in a smaller town just south of Ulm and we often used to get the train up to Ulm or down to Friedrichshafen at the weekend. And then there will be all the Xmas markets, unless they have now finished?

It looks gorgeous, I lived in Munich for 2 years in my twentys and I too feel nostalgic about Germany especially this time of the year. I will put in on my list of places to visit. I could do with 6 months of work on full p*y to visit all the European cities I like; its not going to happen!

Hope you all had a good Christmas!

We got lots of presents which was lovely but are flat is now bursting at the seams!

Lots of snow and ice in Holland but not much fresh snow fell during our week there. Home now and no snow anywhere! :(

Ha Ha but not quite......

All the main presents are b*ght just the extras now should I decide to get any and table present theme has been decided but I do need to get them sorted but none are wrapped!

Cards are all b*ght but not written!

Menu is planned and guests confirmed (apart from one couple)!

So still one or two things to get done....................

My Xmas cards and paper are b*ght and I have one present - but that is it. Then I slow down and have to get a rush on when December comes.
