Can anyone recommend any books for me ready for when I get my kindle? :)

Kelly Armstrong, the Bitten series. Modern day stories of werewolves, witches, vamps etc.

Steve, I think you will really dig the Timeriders series. I am a big fan of them. No romance crap just good characters, inventive storyline and plenty of badass moments. First book is half price at the moment.

I just also recently read a book called Destined by Allison Kraft. Its not going to set the world on fire but its an enjoyable first novel from an author that popped into our Goodreads time travel group promoting her book. The synopis was exotic which was a fusion of vampires, time travel, Titanic and er...romance. I admit I would not have picked it up if wasnt for the Time travel element as I am also wary of sickly romances. Well the romance elements are featured prominently but not in a sickly way, its charming and quite cute because of the clash of mannerisms between 1912 and 2012. The blending of genres was exquisitley done and I am very satisfied with the time travel aspects. The Titanic was the background setting and very richly described giving me an immersive feeling of actually sailing on this doomed voyage. Titanic is actually the author's life long hobby so every character and detail is authentically descibed. She even includes an lengthy appendix on further details of the characters and events told by survivors. It piqued my interest enough to want to now visit the Titanic Exhibition at the O2 (which is also featured in this novel). The book did drag in the middle giving no sense of urgency when there should have been. But it did pick up pace again and I ended up reading the last 1/2 or 1/3rd of the book in one sitting as it came to an exciting climax.

Its only available on Kindle for £2.05p. I give this book 4/5 stars.

NO ROMANCE! Will have to think about it, Ok thought about it, will definately give them a go.

No, the Artichoke one. But i think even Winnie the pooh, i've only read very little of it. My little sister used to have tons of the WtP books.

To be honest i'm surprised none of Enid Blyton books are mentioned, I used to love them as a kid.

They were okay but I personally preferred Michael Morpurgo, Anne Fine etc a bit more.
