Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?
I did watch those as well and that's why I quite good hopes for this one but sometimes I can take or leave Ruth Jones so hoping she does Hattie well. I read an interview where she said she did quite a lot of research before taking on the role so fingers crossed!

Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?
I saw fantastic one about Tony Warren who invented Corrie. it told the story up until the transmission of the first episode. Jessie Wallace (Kat Slater) played Pat Pheonix (Elsie Tanner). I do not rate her at all but iin this she was marvelous. I guess given the right role..........destresserai wrote:I did watch those as well and that's why I quite good hopes for this one but sometimes I can take or leave Ruth Jones so hoping she does Hattie well. I watched John Ford's 'The Grapes of Wrath' last night, starring Henry Ford. What a powerful, moving drama.

I watched Hattie - thought it was very good. Ruth Jones gave a star turn but the actor playing John Le Mesurier was just fantastic.

If anyone remembers dinner for schmuks, the original french film is on tonight - le diner de cons, bbc four, 11pm. If you don't like subtitles than you can forget it. I think this film is way funnier than the american version - watch it!

Member Number 69 of the 100 movies in 2019 Club. Lets see how we get on with this..... fingers crossed.
