how is this a justified response? (i'm not asking you by the way) I simply can not fathom this entire situation, it's like something out of a film. I despair at some people, totally despair. :wall: :wall:

From what I've read even the family of the shot man don't want this to be associated with him or his death, and of course they don't, who would.

The riots are moving to Enfield:

Isn't there a movie screening in Enfield tomorrow night? :shifty:

Also, I cannot believe wtf is happening! Riots and "looting" are completely foreign terms to me, I don't think we have anything like that back home. And from what I heard there's not even a good reason for a (silent!) protest as it was a criminial that got offed, not some innocent bystander!

come to France we have plenty of words for this
another national sport is actually to burn down cars: on NYE we burn cars (yes, this is what we do  ), as many as we can and we are very competitive so we try to beat our own previous records of how many cars were burn on the previous NYE!

unfortunately they never need a reason :(

This is extremely embarrassing. The police really need to crackdown on these low-lifes.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

Burning cars for no reason, what the hell? But that means someone will have to b*y a new car which they may have no money for, people who do that don't know who's they're hurting and how badly!

We have this ridiculous thing on NYE where teenagers grab things from gardens (mail boxes, chairs, plants) and put them on the roof of a local school/community house, etc. I thought that was bad enough (I moved to the area where that is "normal" when I was older and never grew up with this "tradition") but at least they don't break/burn other people's belongings, they just place it elsewhere nearby.

tut tut, we do have a reason, it's fun and we like breaking records!!!! isn't it obvious

the most ridiculous thing is that they do that in their very own neighbourhood!

edit: actually a pretty interesting link on NYE car-burning http://www.time.com/time/world/article/ ... 92,00.html
it also reminded me our last riots lasted for 3 weeks in 2005; let's hope it's going to cool down quicker here!

You're not an idiot aruif, not at all. You liked the guinea pig so obviously him dying isn't going to be so easy for you to handle.
