And some of us were cheeky and asked for two -- well I did have a ticket for 2 and I thought I deserved it because it was a wasted evening and bus journey.

I think I'd have enjoyed this more as a play rather than a film. It was competent but that's not much of a compliment really. I was interested to see Bryce Dallas Howard after The Help but I didn't think much of the therapist, she seemed to be trying too hard.
Preferred Cinemas :
Richmond, Kingston, West End, Wimbledon, Shepherds Bush, Clapham, Westfield, Fulham

I was reading about Bryce Dallas Howard today and found out she is Ron Howard's daughter. That is probably not a surprise to those many knowledgeable film goers on FMUK but I had no idea. I remember Ron Howard as a little kid on an American sitcom called The Andy Griffiths Show in the 1960s which was long before Happy Days and American Graffiti.

Not long back from Glasgow Quay where screen (which was a small one) was only 60% full.
Seems a pity that people take tickets and then don't turn up.
I have to say that I thought the film handled the topic fairly well and gave a good mix of humour and emotion. Knowing the suject matter of the film, I did wonder how it was going to end and thought there might be a last minute change. I was quite impressed with how the film looked at the relationships of the people in his life and how his diagnosis affected them as well as him.

Having read jeancomp's comment, I would agree that it could make a good stage play where you could be drawn more into his life.
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

Just back from the almost full O2 tonight. After a very long delay that saw so many people come late, the film began and fully made me forget the error :D a funny, sad portrayal of an everyday guy with cancer with great performances from all involved ( especially Anna Kendrick and Seth Rogen. thanks again to Valda :D

I thought the film was very well portrayed about the individuals journeys throughout the illness and how everyone has there own coping mechanisms. The young therapist is so true to life where she has a good heart but has little experience of life or people skills and the awkward moments of trying to empathise with her patient and touching him like you would touch something to see if paint was dry, she also committed the cardinal sin of sitting on a patient's bed 8O 8/10

I didn't know that there is no longer free street parking in Manchester after 6 it's now after 8. Anyone who goes in by car its cheaper behind the Printworks/ Victoria station area £2.70 for 2 hours rather than near Albert Square where it's £5.40 for 2 hours. I was getting worried as I only had £3 in change.

Nice to meet up with akh43 again :D

Watched this at The O2 tonight. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The material was sensitively handled, well-acted and surprisingly funny without managing to be crude, insensitive nor offensive.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt was as excellent as always, but for me it was Seth Rogen who totally stole the show. Anjelica Huston too was very good. The weakest element would probably be Anna Kendrick whom I couldn't see as much more than eye candy ... possibly because I'm secretly in love with her (she's got just the right level chirpiness I do so adore).

If I do have any gripes, it's that in the physical sense Joseph Godon-Levitt never really sold me on being Cancer-stricken. He didn't lose any weight, his eyebrows were as thick as the hair on my head and apart from over-emphasizing the paleness of his skin & shaven head , he looked perfectly normal.

Still, as someone who's lost no less than 3 members of his family, as well as a personal friend to Cancer, I found the movie poignant and engaging throughout. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat, especially to people who've shared a similar loss.

I score it 50/50...or maybe something fairly close ;)

But there wasn't a delay? The movie started at about 19h07. C'mon, 7 minutes isn't so bad?
