Hi - I had intended going to see Crimson Wing at Boldon with my family this coming Sunday.

Apparently however that is the day of the "Great North Run". I have been told that it will be extremely difficult to get to the cinema that day because of the huge volume of traffic in the area (Apparently the cinema lies right on the route).

I would be going there from north of Newcastle and I have heard that quite a few major roads will be closed to traffic as the runners go through. Does anyone who actually lives in, or knows, the Boldon Colliery area think that it is reallistic to try to get to the cinema that day? or would I be better to forget it?

It took me ages to actually get the tickets too, and I was really looking forward to it, but I don't fancy being stuck in a car in the middle of a traffic jam with the kids fighting all day.

Any thoughts?

Also, I Just wanna say how much I love this site - special thanks to all the regular posters (you know who you are!) who share the ticket info. Without your kindness my family and I wouldnt have been able to afford to see all the films we have been to recently.

Good on ya Mateys! o/

Preston.

thanks to everyone for their kind input about me losing my times paper......in the end i didnt end up going for numerous reasons.

my car is running very well at the minute, i have no idea what is wrong with it, but it just seems to be guzzling the juice and seeing as i dont get pa*d till friday i didnt fancy wasting petrol on the off chance that i got refused! :tears: i had loads to do aswell ready for work today

its a shame cos i really liked the look of the film, but lesson learned - i'll be putting my paper in a safe in the future so no one can bin my valuable paper! lol

how did everyone else find it ?

Hey rainey, did you read the reviews for it here: http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1640 ?

It's a shame you didn't get to go... here's hoping for you to get free tickets to see it in the cinema when it's released! ;)

Rainey's based in Durham and uses the same cinemas as BettyBoop and andrews. Lol.

Awwww, poor rainey. :( I'm sure you'll eventually get to see it!

While the cinematography was beautiful, I didn't think Crimson Wing was amazing. It was 20 minutes too long and as all animal documentaries go, had intermittent scenes of dead animals. ho hum.

Yes indeed we were - Spanner , BettyBoop and their families and myself were all there - we made up 40% of the total audience - 8O

I think Up will be much better - read the reviews on here - http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34

Several people have already seen this - in London - and they were bowled over by it! :D
